I gotcha. We just tack welded the factory ones back on mine, I haven't measured to make sure the shocks won't bottom first but I don't plan on having these flexed out like that enough to harm anything.

yea I wasnt sure, and since ive stuffed the wheel deep enough to warp the sheet metal (before I cut off the 2.5 inches) I figured for 20$ or so it wouldnt hurt.

so, from what I saw, the shocks come in 8, 10, and 12" flex. (Sam said the 679's were 9.1"). After having a conversation with him, he said those 679's come with the standard leaf pack and go with them. And I dont know enough about how to judge flex of shocks for leafs and all that geometry. But everyone who orders the std leaf pack and those fox shocks get that size. If I got the 12" separately, I didnt know if they would bottom out, and damaging them.

Thoughts??? I could always cancel the shock order and get the 12" from somewhere else (allpro doesnt have the selection of 8/10/12")

EDIT: Sam did say that 9.1 was the best option for the stock mounts. I dont have the welding capability like I did in KY (Levi cough cough ;)) to get the BAMF relocation brackets. Thats about the only way I would be able to up the shock size and not bottom them out (if you or anyone knows if I could fit the 10" and not bottom out then ill switch the order, springs wont be in stock until 10 dec so I have nothing but time). Any and all advice is appreciated. This is a new area of suspension I'm learning now.

    $489 + $15 shipping + $25 FFL transfer + $10 TICS, so right at $540 out the door. A smoking deal that I just couldn't pass up.

ALSO: I talked to ORW and they ran the 12" shocks and they dont fit stock mount points, so it sounds like the allpro guy is right and for the factory mounts, the 9.1" is pretty much all im going to fit. The 12" require the relocation mount according to ORW. He also said a guy named Ian was their Tacoma guy who I can call and ask anything, anytime for very specific detailed questions that another rep may not know at ORW (if anyone else needs/wants thats info).

Id like to say "I get that a lot" but really my mom is the only one who's ever told me that, and it was worded more like "shut the fuck up, Zack" but I knew what she meant.

What part of TN you from?
