What is the reason for that?

 

Weather related. It's easier for it to be a seasonal road than to have to change it daily or weekly and no one ever know if it will be open or not.

 

Just over a week till I'm finally out of the country againnnnn

 

They shut down Prentice Cooper in Chattanooga Dec 19th. They say it is to protect the roads from damage.

 

so my planned 2 hr job of going out to drill frame and get all the bolts put into my sliders...
Burned up every drill bit I had between 3/8 to 9/16 (in 1/64 increments). Those Harbor Freight drill sets are ok for drilling pine wood but nothing harder than that. Definitely not steel. I almost think they're just painted gold and not really Ti coated.

Then it took forever to persuade the solid brake lines around a couple bolts.

10 hrs later, sliders are now solid enough for trail use.

 

I give an A+ for effort and a C- for execution.

 

Finally? You hate the place or what!?

 

Custom brake line bracket should bump to C+.

 

Shipping my coilovers to fox tomorrow for a full rebuild, spindles are on the way to the house. Check those off the list.

However, I called camburg to get a part number for the ball joint for these UCA's and was told that they're designed around the Toyota ball joints but that Toyota doesn't sell just the ball joint and that I might have to machine down a moog one a little bit to get the fucker in. What the fuck? Have you ever done the ball joints in these @Robertocritser

And how's the Volvo? You get that figured out yet?

 

Yeah ive heard that sometimes the moog balljoints will fit with no machining.. this is ultimately why I went with uniballs

 

I "machined" an FJ UBJ to fit one day before AOP..............with an angle grinder

 

Yeah seem a dude do it with a die grinder and a scotch brite pad..

No, I had Toyota install moog ball joints for me

And it's home just waiting on the motor mount to ship in

What'd they charge you? Or did Todd do it? And damn. That was some super shitty timing though.

 

Damn. I've had angle grinders jump and try to take me out... but not that bad

 

Todd wasn't there but I had one of his friends put them in, took him like an "hour"

And yea it was, but dad brought a trailer down to pick it up and got to see my cousins

 

I gotcha. I'll call the Toyota dealer tomorrow and check, I've got about a month til everything needs to go in, so I'm not stressed for time or anything.
