I seriously almost did that! !!! I put all the ass I could get on my ratchet on the ring bolts. Didn't use a breaker though as I have broken/tightened about equal number of bolts with it.

 

This is where my yard wrenching antics fail me. I do this kind of work all day everyday 9-5 but don't have a good shop at home to support my addiction. Today I literally dug a bench vise out of storage and lag bolted it to a decorative rail tie in the yard

 

Hahaha nice. How long did it take? And I'd suggest getting some good diff fluid now if you weren't already using some.

 

Probably an hour and half of wrenching toward the locker install. Using Amsoil 85/140 for now, hoping its not too thick. Spent a lot of time getting my ass organized with no garage and not wanting to lay in the muddy ground. Passenger side hub was seized to housing, pinion seal replacement etc. Ran out of beer, liquortimecontinuum doesn't have the same ring to it.

 

Liquortimecontinuum = a lot of not getting shit done

 

East coast gear supply recommends 85/140 lucas.. they told me the thinner oils don't "cling to the gears as well"

 

Drove up to union city yesterday and finally decided I've had enough of whatever has been knocking on the rear whenever I hit rough patch of road. Turns out those fat OME shocks were hitting the mounts. Angle grinder today solved that problem. Flexed it all out in the yard just to be sure.
Kids thought it was an awesome ride. Inclinometer app on phone said I got up to a 28.3 degree climb. Expected it to be steeper than that.

 

Shout out to clabough's campground. Now to climb mt leconte.

Factory replacement ome shocks were hitting the factory shock mounts? And yeah it always feel like more then it is when off camber. Zach rode with me when we probably got close to 40° and then Sarah was with me when my mirror was touching the ground and she could stick her feet out the window and stand on it. Hahaha I feel pretty safe about not rolling my truck

 

I think we were closer to 50-55. I had more weight on your center console and your headrest than I did my seat.

 

Naw. Youre doing what Daniel did. Just think of how steep a 55° hill is. That's not a hill most people are walking up let alone driving a 5000# truck up. That's not an angle you want to be sideways at. Haha

I saw you yesterday. I was pulling out of the driveway when you went by. Cool little camper. What is it?

 

Keeping it mild this year, plus the fact that we just fuckin moved in a little over a month ago my neighbor however (which turns out i used to hang out with in jr high), is clark griswold (pic 2).

My sister in law says my house looks like a gingerbread house.

 

It's a runaway camper. It is perfect for my needs.

 

The OME sport shocks that usually go with the Dakar springs.
Turns out I had multiple knocks. Gave the shocks some clearance but found out the end of one of my sliders hits the body on rough road when the body shakes on its mounts. Convenient that I got the bolt-on sliders. Was able to shim it a little without drilling out any of the holes. We'll see if it's enough.

 

Got my passenger fender swapped out, and inner fender installed on driver. Had to cut old antenna off and buy new one which was 90 fun dollars but it's now done until I can afford to paint it. Did a little riding after then tomorrow it gets washed and will sit in the barn for a month or two until I get back in the country.

 

Is that a 7.62 AR? Obviously it's a pistol.
