I understand how caster and camber work, and how they affect one another, but how does having positive camber stabilize the truck? Help me wrap my brain around that. It seems like the more \ / you have, the less stable it would be. To me, this \ / looks less stable than this | |...........No?

 

Because with a tiny bit of positive camber, as you turn and the body of the truck rolls a bit, the outer tire begins to up travel in the suspension which will in turn make the tire go from slightly / to | and give you more stability through a corner.

 

For instance, if you have 0 camber then whenever your suspension squishes or travels upwards in the wheel well (which is how it will spend ~75% of the time you're off-road) then any time it's compressed or on the up-travel half then your tires will be /\. But if you're moving down a dirt road and the suspension is soaking everything up, if you have positive camber built in, they'll be more flattened out and have more contact when in the up-travel part.
