Yea I plan on off roading it but not rock crawl status. Don't care about gas mileage and I want it to look mean but still functional. I've done a good amount of research towards lifts and I know with the right set up I can get a 3" lift without adding spacers (before armor of course lol). I really like that the drop brackets keep the drive line at stock angles to help minimize extra wear but know that 3" lifts do fine on the axles also. I love that the 5" give the truck a more aggressive stance. I'm torn lol.

 

I plan on going through wheelers off-road inc. Is there anyone you guys would recommend me speaking to so I get the best deal possible or is there another company you guys suggest?

 

The stance may look more aggressive but you don't actually gain any clearance over a 3" because the bracket hangs down in the front essentially negating the clearance you are trying to achieve.

EDIT: I went through headstrong for my front end and wheelers for the rear. Both companies were great to work with.

 

With a drop bracket from RCD I know I still gain 3" of clearance on the cross member but I also know it's still just shy from a 3" lift. After being out here in Utah with out a lift and going down the same trails and lines my buddy does in his 2.5-3" lifted Taco I'm not concerned about that lil bit of difference. I just want to see how your guys trucks look and what type of lifts you went with so I can compare the looks. The lifts I'm looking at I know will work for daily driving and the weekend off roading but also want an aggressive looking ride. I don't want anything higher than a 6" lift because I don't like putting body spacers on the truck.

 

If it's 2wd then get maxtrac lift spindles. 4" lift with factory geometry. That's what I have in the front.

Oh I gotcha. I thought I saw something about a 2wd 4Runner and thought that's what we were talking about lifting.

Dang so you did a 3" lift and are able to fit 36" tires?!? Holly crap that's a big tire lol! (Unless I miss read your build thread) what did your lift run you?

In this pic (pre-armor and not a scratch on her) I have Toytec ultimate coilovers set to 3 inch, plus 1/2 spacers (good for 4" but not advised), SPC UCAs, dropped front diff, spaced Superbumps, Dakars out back with SOS shackle flip giving almost 4 inches.
I don't recommend any part of this setup, or equipment other than the Dakars and Superbumps
