How do you get extra length in the parking brake lines to account for extra droop?
Just flexing the Dakar pack pulls the lines tighter than I like to see really. Can't imagine if I did a mod to add more droop.

 

Back from first ever camping trip with the kids. They loved it, loved LBL, and can't wait to go again but when it's not 37 degrees at night.

 

Take off the last mount that bolts to the leaf pack.

 

It's really that easy???

 

That's what I did and haven't had any problems.

Talking about the line that runs forward along each leaf pack. Not the central lines above the dif.

Checked out some other camp areas at LBL.

- Colson Hollow Group Camp would easily fit our TW group but it's a pay area and offers nothing special over the "backcountry" areas except a big open grassy area that begs someone to spinout, hit a rut, and break their truck.
- Redd Hollow is a bunch of individual hard gravel camper pads scattered at varying elevations along the roadway. Too close to road for me. Might fit us all but we'd be scattered. Not conducive to group outing.
- Ginger Bay was a PITA to find. It felt especially isolated. Would only fit a few trucks and you'd be pretty close to the boat ramp but I can't imagine towing a trailer back there. No toilet.

We ended up at Neville Bay this weekend because it was getting late and wind was way too strong on the west side of peninsula. East side was calm.

Lady in the Visitor center said Taylor bay, Sugar bay, and Smith bay are nice but I didn't get to ride out to them.

 

I guess I have no clue what brake lines you're talking about that run along the leaf pack. You're truck most be drastically different then mine. Hard lines are on the axle. Soft lines extend vertically off the center to the bottom of the bed then hard lines run to the master cylinder. I have longer brake lines now but before I just bent the upper brake attaching hard lines to soft lines down some

 

Parking brake cable runs down from front leaf hanger to front leaf collector bracket then to rear of brake assy. Driver and passenger. I don't think the added droop affects it much but I had to adress it when I lifted.

 

That's not a brake line ...... I also just removed the bolt and mount for the parking brake cable.

honestly, for some reason I was thinking fluid return line... yeah, I know, not a circulating system.
