Pic of his truck bc I'm not a Chevy guy but I think it looks damn good. Plus those wheels look better on his truck than they do on mine

BTW, you're running 255/85/16's, yes? Considering them as an option.....Got a killer deal on Cooper tires (40% discount) and they offer that size.

A sales guy at a tire shop gave it to me. I rebuilt a transmission for his '66 Chevy (Muncie 4-speed) With the tires I'm interested in, this could be worth close to $400. I'm either buying Coopers for the truck or my wife's car.

Trying to see if it cross' over to a brand Cooper makes....Mastercraft. Their MXT is an AWESOME tire. If it was them, I'd be doing 285/75/16's. If actual Coopers, maybe the 255/85/16's.... Gonna find some way to get a taller tire on before fall. Still paying on some BIG doctor bills after the surgery 2 months ago.

You like 'em? Gotta say, your truck LOOKS extremely good, so the tires do not detract from the looks category. How's the performance end?

I really do like them. There are times when the extra ground clearance over 265s is helpful, they can fit on a stock truck with minimal to no clearancing, and I haven't suffered a tremendous hit in the fuel mileage arena. This past weekend I drove 5 hours away, up to Butler, TN loaded down with probably 700lbs of gear or more and a friend of mine...I averaged 16.5mpg doing 80-85 the whole way. Being so narrow they do create the illusion of being smaller than they actually are when looking at the truck next to other trucks. Overall I highly recommend them.

    Holy shit brussell!
I have spent so many years going to that exact spot! Mountain drive
My great grandparents lived just over the hill.

My clan are the Lundy's if you know any of them
Most everyone worked engineering, mining, safety, etc

Just cool to see other people up there.
Couple years Ago I sledded down that hill on a card board box
Stupidest shit I have ever done.
    Almost

I usually stack some rocks up there too up at the top. Every few months when I go back, they are usually still there. Sometimes the wind gets bad

We call that place Mars and camp there often

His truck did awesome. Those tall skinneys work really well for cuttin through mud and I have still yet to find another tire then the km2 that performs so well in the mud, on the rocks and on the street. They are never a bad option for our terrain, unless you aren't looking to spend that much money.

I'm not WANTING to spend ANY money.....But that ain't gonna happen.

I've had several sets of Goodrich mud terrain radials in the past....(pretty much the same tread pattern, just a different sidewall design) and liked 'em. One set was on my '84 Toyota, which was my all time favorite truck! The only reason I went away from the Goodrich radials then was to go with 38" Gumbo Mudders.

Problem is now, the KM2's are all on national backorder. As much as 8 weeks wait on all the popular sizes. Got it narrowed down to about 4 choices and KM2's were already on that list.

Soo final numbers from my last tank.
    384.2 miles
    18.294 gallons used
Comes out to right at 21 mpg. I will NEVER see these numbers again and I have no idea how I got them. I have to drive over a mountain pass to get out of the valley which means I'm in 3rd or 4th gear at 3000 rpms most of the time. I guess going down the other side helps to counter that but still I'm surprised.

ALSO, truck mods are going on the back burner. I will do some small mods here and there but its just to strenuous on my bank account if I want to do it right. After PA school (hopefully starting next fall) when I start making a big boy salary mods will resume. For now I'm focusing on some backpacking stuff. Its significantly cheaper.

Did you just say the KMs are pretty much the same design as the km2s? Because that's way wrong. Their tread design isn't even close. I had the kms on my truck before switching to the km2s and they are a vastly improved tire. Mud traction, loose gravel traction, large rock conformity, snow traction, ride comfort and longevity are all great improvements over the kms predecessor. If you have never driven offroad with km2s versus kms, you don't know what you're missing.

So I was serious the other day about looking to find a 1st gen. I've been looking around and holy shit they are high. Anyway, I've been in contact with this guy. I like the truck, a lot. I just have no idea what it's worth. KBB seems to be worthless for these trucks, as they all sell waaay over their prices. Anyone know what a fair price for this machine would be? Notice the CEL issue. Any ideas there?
