I have it showing intake air temp, water temp, trans temp, and voltage. Haven't felt like calibrating it for mpg.

 

I'm looking at the mx because it is within my budget and alot of people have it. Gid has one.

I need the link to elm you are using. With the iPad in my dash permanently I've been meaning to order but last time I looked there were all different versions

 

Does anyone have a picture of their gauge setup?

 

What are signs of pulley or belt going bad? Sort of squeal sound when under load, like accelerating up a hill, and some sense of power loss? Occasional minor rattle when air conditioner compressor is on?

If its a squeal check to see if the belts are tight

 

Compressor slugging? Ever heard of that being an issue in tacomas?

 

If it just started, squealing will be belt and high pitch whining will be a pulley. The pulley will get worse and turn into a squeal though. Loss of power will occur as well for either. If it's a loose belt then it's slipping, if it's a pulley then it's wobbling or starting to seize making it hard to turn. I would replace the belt since that's relatively easy and while it's off just feel the pulleys. Any side to side or front to back movement will mean the bearing is bad and will eventually get much worse real fast and end up snapping the belt. Ask me how I know ....

 

Same haha, had the AC pulley go on me. Luckily it was March and didn't need AC

 

I'm conveniently still in warranty.

 

Would belt/pulley be intermittent and only with ac running?

 

Any ELM327 should work, but my understanding is that it has to be Wi-Fi and not Bluetooth to work with an iPad. I'm using OBD Fusion as the app on the iPad.

 

Possibly because you're adding a load when the compressor is on.

 

Has anyone decided on where and what time everyone wants to meet up?
