They shipped today. Haven't drove the truck in 2 days. Its just sitting in the garage waiting on the bearings.

but seriously, its prob a difference of 2 hrs minimum (I thought you said it took you quite a while to get the bushings out) between swapping a LCA out over replacing the bushings. And the cost difference between the bushings to the LCA was like 30$ (60ish to 90ish$$) that breaks down to 15$/hour minimum...so yes my time is worth that much to me.




I'm a very busy man and time is the one commodity you can never get more of.

Where did you end up getting them? Mine are still good, but history tells me that won't last forever.

 

My boy loves "wheeling" when we go feed the critters. Notice the concentration. He runs the steering wheel by himself. We're probably in trouble when he gets tall enough to reach the pedals.

 

Rock Auto. I was gonna order OEM from Camelback but decided to cheap out and got some that were about half price of OEM.

 

Took me about 5 mins to get the bushings out. You also factored in bushings for ucas and lcas as you can't buy them separately. So double your lca price and add the price of 2 ucas or cut the cost by 3/4 of the bushings to realistically display the cost analysts. It changes your cost per hour quite substantially. This is also all completely irrelevant unless you sacrificed time, that you were otherwise making money, to instead swap your lca. If not though, then you neither spent or made any money meaning your time cost you $0 and consequently profited you $0 making your time both worthless and solely self fulfilling.

And don't feed me that "I'm busy" bullshit like you're the only mothafucker that struggles to find "play" time for yourself. You chose to buy a new lca based on whatever logic made the most sense to you. If you're too busy and wanted to take the quickest route to finish the job then that's ok. It's also ok to be too busy and want to take the longer route to finish the job and use whatever logic you wanna come up with to justify that to yourself.

I thought it took ya longer to press things in/out. Also, if ucas and lcas cannot be sold separately, then of course I factored the price in together since I cannot feasibly separate the costs.

I do not need to double the lca price AND the 2 ucas bc I didn't need to replace them. just because the bushing pack comes with all 4, doesn't mean I substitute what I NEED to make your argument fit your attempt to rationally make me alter mine. If I did this OR cut the cost by 3/4 of the bushing, this is an unrealistic representation of costs since the pack of bushings comes as a SET that I can't break up individually (this is not my problem, that's the manufacturers). Therefore, this does not change my cost/hour.

I do see your rationale about it only cost time if I could have been making money instead of doing this (opportunity costs: explicit costs and implicit costs; whether you knew it or not you were correct to a degree on that). BUT throwing out the definitions of these costs, if I personally view my time (whether making money or not) more valuable through other IMPLICIT costs (such as time whether spent with family or doing something else, not nominal "cash in hand" costs) then it does still cost me time (time I could be doing something else).

by including the solely self fulfilling comment, you negate some previous good points since you are now bringing in unrelated issues to add to your cause which I see you doing, weakening your argument.

Lastly, I never implied I was the "only mothafucker with struggles" NOR did I imply I had ANY struggles at all.

Well my crested geckos finally hatched some babies. I picked this dude up maybe 10 mins after he came out of the egg. Hes so tiny. One more hatched this morning and there's 5 more that may potentially hatch.

 

I've bought a ton of stuff through Rock Auto, and so far have not regretted any of my purchases.

The same bearing that Auto Zone wanted $92 for was on Rock Auto ~$30 cheaper. The idiot at the counter tried telling me the wheel seal was $92 too. He was looking at a new hub assembly and had no clue.

 

Haha yeah I'm gonna sell them. They are cheap at $50- $70 as adults so probably $20 as babies. They are super cute and easy to care for. I really just wanted to see if I could do it. Still waiting for my baby snakes to get big enough to try and breed them too.

I was thinking blue or yellow if I did something other than black. BudBuilt used to have pictures of their different colored skids but I can't seem to find them now.
