Speaking to that, anyone have any interest and/or need to buy a .30-30? Deer season is right around the corner. ;)

Are you adding in tire/gear discrepancy into your calculation? On stock gears I have a 13% difference in miles showing vs actual miles traveled. I figure that into my calculations for getting my MPG. I also consistently stop filling up at the first shut off of the gas pump, and unless traveling I always fill up at the same pump (yes pump, not just gas station). Sounds like you need a snorkel. ;)

Rifle sells for $471 on Buds with free shipping, $20 transfer fee, and $10 background. I have a Skinner rear peep sight on it which is another $59 which doubles the sight radius and greatly increased the accuracy for me. It's also easier to adjust that the stock buckhorn sight. I also have 220 rounds of PPU soft point ammunition that goes with it, and it groups really well in this rifle. I've put 120 rounds through the rifle, so it's practically new. I am only selling it because I want to get a .45-70 instead. I'd let it all go for $600.

so i calibrated the ultra gauge with my garmin gps so it gets the correct mileage and mpg. Not sure if gears did anything to that or not (would it have an affect?) When calibrating the fuel level I too used the same pump each time and cut off at the same time, only way to get it most accurate.

If it's calibrated via GPS it should be correct, but gears would change the reading on your speedo. Might be worth checking again to see if it's still in spec.

the speedo is off I know, due to the 35's though.....(not gearing)...I think.

    Gearing will affect it too.

    didnt know/ever think about that.

always thought it was just circumference of tire

Speedometer display is directly proportional to driveshaft rotation. Both gears and tires affect this relationship. If you could put 4.21ish gears with 35s on a second gen with a 4.0 and AT, then the speedometer would be correct. With 4.56s and 35s you're actually just slightly overgeared, which means your speedometer should show slightly faster than you are actually going, and your odometer will actually show slightly more miles than you are actually driving. The converse is my situation, where I have 35s on stock gears, so the speedo shows slower than I am actually going, and the odometer reads less miles than actually traveled. Mine shows 13% slower than actual, where yours should show approximately 8% faster than actual. Bored yet?
