Was amused reading the fishing notices about water conditions in TN.

All major waters in Shelby county (Memphis general area) say don't eat the fish.

Chattanooga area has some that say don't eat the fish and avoid contact with the water. Like, you can fish there, just don't fall in.

 

What is the reasoning?

 

Mercury for not eating.
Assorted chemicals for not getting exposed to the water. Will look it up again tonight to see specifics.

Today is my the first wedding anniversary of my wife and I. How did we celebrate you ask? Well, I had school all day, then we went to Home Depot to get a tool to scrape the caulk out of the shower and and recaulk it so it will hopefully stop leaking into the garage. Came home and I did that, and she just left to go to work until 0600 tomorrow. Adulting is dumb.

 

Make sure you don't use that tub for a good 24 hours.

Probably longer, and the fucker will probably still leak. The people who tiled it originally (who knows how long ago) grouted all the corner seams. Of course with expansion and contraction and settling, they all cracked like crazy. Well someone at some point half-ass fixed it by smearing silicone caulk all over it, but they missed some big areas which have been leaking down into the garage. I know they used silicone caulk because nothing will stick to it, and that's the main reason I always use latex caulk, because you can add more later instead of having to remove all of the old caulk to put new on. I can almost guarantee I missed some along the way and it will bubble up and start leaking again. I'll be glad when I have the time to rip all this shit out and redo it the right way.
