I FEEL very good. Exact same job I've been doing for 5 years, just a different location.

So @rngr if you get this job are you going to sell the VW, buy truck parts, and become single? :D

Ha ha. I could build one helluva rig with the VW funds.

But here in the real world, I'll probably either keep it, or sell it and dump the money into my mortgage or the kiddos college funds.

Plus, I kinda love my wife.

    Adulting. :)

There are some definite pluses and minuses to adulting. I also have a job interview on Saturday at 0900. It will be my first healthcare job, and hopefully open a door for me to work in the cardiac ICU at St. Thomas. Keep your fingers crossed for me! I also have an information session on Monday for an RN to BSN/MSN program with the University of Alabama. Shit is getting real.

Dude that's awesome. It's awesome when you can finally do what you love doing after putting in the work to get there. Good luck. I definitely suggest the pimp cane and top hat interview approach.

That's a possibility and maybe a probability. I've really grown fond of it. I've never had a vehicle that cruises comfortably at 85 before this one. 30mpg is nice too.

Plus with the probably double mpg (after you finally build the rig completely) you'll save more money

Do any of you have/use a portable phone charger? If so, what kind and how do you like it?

Heading out for a couple day trip down the river tomorrow. My poor little iPhone 4S battery won't hold charge for shit anymore. There won't be any cell signal, but my phone is my camera so I'd like to keep it alive as long as possible.

El cheapo hardware store plug into the 12v power port kind.....Paid like $6.95. Works to perfection.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
I have one but don't know brand. Corporate goodies so no original id marks left on it. Likely some cheap Chinese thing.

One I have takes about 3 hr to charge the battery pack. But then that pack will charge my phone from 1% to about 65% in 15 minutes. Not enough juice for a full phone charge but enough to be useful. Carried it on the river when I went to Montana so I could use the camera.

I saw a nice looking battery pack type in Radio Shack over the weekend. (Yes, there are still some Radio Shacks..) I'd imagine just about any brand would do. Isn't a high tech component....

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. I think any old el-cheapo will work for my purposes.

I have a 20,000mah Anker that will charge my phone about 5 times before I need to recharge it. If you will be in Nashville today you can just stop by the house and take it with you if you want.

Do most of them just have a USB port so you can hook up any charger you want?
That would be great, but I'm just going to buy one so I'll have it. Plus, I would hate for yours to end up in the caney. Ha ha.

I've got 12,000mA, it takes several hours to charge it up. I get about 3 charges on my phone from it, and it uses a mini USB input to charge it and a regurlar USB for output.
