from my research, i would go with something that is a complete coilover that is also adjustable, Icon lifts for example! not sure what your budget it, but just a thought!

 

i was recently in a very similar position and decided to change jobs as well. you truly have to go with your gut.

if this opportunity sets you up for success further down the road, its a short time of living "alone" and you will always meet new people wherever you go, just trusts your instincts!

Thanks for that insight.. i really appreciate it. I imagine all of those things are very true. For me, i could always use a little guidance or push off the ledge for that matter, especially when it comes to major mods.

 

when and where do you all meet? i would love to come to one

 

We have a few state wide meets a year. Land Between the Lakes in March is an annual thing then we do numerous planned ones throughout the rest of the year (Windrock, Harlen, Adventure Offroad Park, Turkey Bay, etc ....). Nashville has plenty of folks on here for yall to do some food get togethers as well as there's always weekends where folks are helping eachother work on truck stuff.

Oh yeah. No doubt. I can't speak for others but I never check any other thread but this one for meets. With the exception of the March LBL meet, making a separate thread for a meet without first talking about it in here is ass backwards if you want us to know about it. This thread is the host for a lot of things including meets, build threads, life advice and pretty much any tacoma related knowledge. I give it a 10! A FUCKING 10!

also, for absolute necessary mods / recovery gear - where do you all suggest starting? as of now, i have tires and thats about it!

 

For the trip, i wouldn't be to worried about recovery gear. Pretty much all of us have straps, and alot of other guys have winches. a good set of tires (which from what i understand, you have), and a lift (imo), and 4wd will get you through most places.

 

roger that, hate depending on other people but recovery gear are things i can acquire over time!

next thinking SSO Hybrid bumper, rock sliders and Suspension

 

Have you narrowed a date for LBL yet? Any of the following would be great March 3-5, 10-12, or 24-26, my two cents worth.

Yep, it's me. We're both in the Nashville area, so I'm willing to help anytime. I'm still learning too though, but I have discovered most of what I want to do to my truck is really not as difficult as you might imagine.

By the way, Dog Fish Head beers are my favorite. ;-)
