    The locker replaces the center spider gears and alters the "backlash" so tolerances aren't as tight. You should be able to reach under your truck and slightly twist your driveshaft back and forth because of a slight tolerance between all the different pieces in the 3rd member. The locker just increases those tolerances so back and forth play goes from say 1/4" of play to 1/2" of play and you get some driveshaft noise when in nuetral from it kinda flopping around. You'll see. It's not bad, just different then stock.

    If you're going with a mild lift, 2-3" just follow the directions on the installation instructions. The "default" setting (centered in the UCA) adds I think 2 degrees caster and is a good place to start.

    Edit - it is position "D" on the install instructions and does in fact add 2 degrees.

    If you're stuffing 33's you might want to add more caster.

    As far as the adjustment on the "Big Effin Nut" there are two schools of thought: (1) pull it all the way forward to its stop; (2) set it midway along its travel.

    (1) makes it harder to align down at the LCA. But if you knock the shit out of the UCA off road you know where to put it back.

    (2) makes alignment easier. I recommend marking the position with a paint marker so when you knock the shit out of it offroad, you know where to put it back. :D

    BTW I lurk in the TN thread because the girl has family there and we'll be making the move in a couple years.

    I set mine to the neutral (+2*) position for caster. Then centered the ball joint in the slide as close as I could. The alignment guy was able to give me 3* caster, 0.5* camber, 0* toe using only the LCA.
