Mount pleasant is where I would like to end up. Trying to be within an hours drive of Nashville. Looking to buy property where I can have 20 acres, build a small house and have a shop on my property.
I have a established business where I fly around, so I need to be close enough to a major airport. I as well will start to establish my architectural fabrication business in the Nashville area. Got any tips.

What part of California? Is that your dog in your avatar? I've got a couple heelers if you need another one. ;)

Don't need another one right now. That is Leo, he is from Murfreesboro. He is 13, still full of piss and vinegar. Best dog I have ever had. Live in Signal hill/ Long Beach, born and raised in Venice beach. IMG_2136.jpg

My wife grew up in Santa Barbara and her parents still live there. Her brother is in Manhattan Beach, sister in San Francisco, best friend in Huntington Beach, and lots of friends in San Diego because she lived there 9 years. Needless to say we go back a lot. I love visiting, but agree that I wouldn't want to live there. I have two heelers, one is 9 and has Addison's disease, the other is 7 and is neurotic.

IMG_2034.jpg IMG_2035.jpg Leo is awesome, very smart, very protective. Grew up in a shop environment. Not scared of anything. He has been to the Arctic Ocean and pre ran the Baja 1000 3 times. Goes everywhere with me. He is my 3rd Heeler and by far the best dog/ best friend I have ever had.
Got any tips for a west coast boy moving to Tennessee ?
I have a EDM machine and do industrial work all over North America, but have had a architectural fabrication business in Los Angeles that does very well. Looking to show my work to architects and designers in the Nashville area and see if I can build a clientele.

Leaving LA because I just can't take the liberal left BS anymore, traffic is insane, and I am taxed to death with 3 businesses. California and there super majority democrats have run this state into the ground, I will no longer have my tax dollars pay for there leftist crap. Red State here I come.

Woodbury, Murfreesboro, Lebanon, Gallatin, or just about anywhere in-between would be good places to start looking.

Noticed I am losing rear diff fluid where the axle housing meets the diff carrier. What kind of gasket is between the two?

Note- had a shop install the locker a couple months ago. Checked for leaks several times after that. It was always dry. Any idea why it would take a while to leak?

I added some to see how much I had lost. Took 4oz (1/8 qt) until it ran out the full hole.

You're talking about where the third member bolts to the housing?

It'd be a bit unusual, but you could have tweaked the seal at LBL if you hit your diff on something.

I had thought about that, but I doubt it. I certainly drug the diff through some mud, but there doesn't appear to be any evidence of it taking a "hit".

We have a Springer Spaniel/Papillon mix with K9 Addisons. $90 a month shot and she's good as new. She's been getting the shot for just over 5 years. (She'll be 15 this June)

Once you're up and running in Tennessee, shoot me a PM with contact info and I'll give you names/numbers of a couple very busy architect's and a couple design/build contractors I know in the Louisville Ky area. They work the entire state of Kentucky, so Tennessee isn't far out of their domain.

Twas my Saturday. With the @Mr.Bl0nde aka John's help I swapped out the passenger side axle for an Amazon special. That'll get me by till I can fix the old one, or find a used OEM replacement. I had intended just to repair the torn boot, but as things sometimes don't go as planned. I ended up have to do a complete swap after 1) I had trouble getting the hub separated from the axle, I messed up the threads a bit. 2) I had a miss understanding of how the axle is assembled, Gid was kind enough to straighten my thinking out after having a chuckle at the "C" teams expense....o_O Thanks to you both:cheers:, I'm no longer throwing grease all over the place and I get to drive my truck to work on Monday! :woot:

Agree about the super majority out there. Luckily my wife and parents are quite conservative...her siblings however are far from it. As far as tips go...you'll do just fine. Just don't start introductions with being from California. ;) The majority of people you will meet here are going to be transplants anyways, especially in the greater Nashville area. Also, traffic is an effing nightmare here, as an estimated 65 new people per day are moving to Nashville right now. Everyone in the country has different driving styles, and right now we have all of them in one place. Not to mention the multiple interstate interchanges in the city and how confusing they can be for someone who isn't familiar. I'm in healthcare, so I can't help you with architects, but I do know how to swing a hammer.

Yeah we just switched from Percorten to a new generic version that came out and is a little cheaper. She also gets a 5mg prednisone daily.

"C" team huh? You get a promotion? ;) For me the hardest part is getting the axle out of the diff. A neat trick for popping the stub loose from the hub is to place the round side of a ball peen hammer in the center of the depression on the end of the stub shaft, then hit the flat side with a dead blow. You don't mess up threads that way. I've messed up a lot of threads by spinning the castle nut back on and hitting it, but they can usually be fixed with a die run across them, or a little file work.
