Also glad I rode the 2nd half of the day.

Best trip so far. Not even close. I couldn't have enjoyed myself more, wheelin and camping/BSing. Huge thanks to everyone. Great to see old faces again and few new ones. 1st time I got to see Zach wheel. Ev & Amy are incredibly persistent and have not let a cinnamon roll beat them. I will def. be around for the trip when they finally "nail" the campsite cinnamon roll. It will be a glorious morning.

Emotions got the best of me there for a minute after that 1st run, was a very..."finally feeling like part of the group" kinda moment.

    Lemme explain...

So many times I brought the 5 lug, and I had a blast. Every. Single. Time. But the rides home sucked, with more time spent being disappointed in my truck and jealous of everyone else's, than anything else. Just...to drive that far, to meet a group who let me be me, and to have to leave my truck sitting at camp, was hard.

The 5 lugger would have never made it even through the morning run. I know it. We all know it. Never would have made it up those pretty steep inclines before we even got back to that part I got stuck on and the rut. She would have bottomed out and never been able to crest or pull its self over.

After getting through, the wave washed over, couldn't help it. Tried. My apologies to Sarah. From wheelin a 5 lug to 4x4 is....From feeling like being at the mercy of my truck to actually being in control of it....4-LO is....Its gonna take a trip to two get over my previous mindset and used to the new truck.

    Ya'll are pretty awesome.

Mkay someone. Clue me in on all the 3" and under lift options. I do look, but meh.

Like the TRD Baja Lift offering from Toyota. It's OE. It's pretty mild and looks like it can be used in conjunction with the rest of the stock suspension. Seems to have good reviews.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/baja-tx-pro-kit-icon-aal.385619/

    The tire situation is...

245/65/16 OE tire size. Is this comparable to a 31"
265/75/16 is the biggest I could go stock

What is the largest size possible with a 3" lift?
    If 245/65/16 is around a 31...Then....
    265/75/16=?
    ___/__/__ = 33's?
    ___/__/__ = 35's?

Very first thing you need to establish is how much you can spend on suspension. You can get in the game under a grand and on upp to several thousand.

    Set a budget.

The cost is not my biggest concern honestly. That TRD kit is 1600+. I'd save and drop it if it's what I think will suit me best. Seems like there is about a dozen different options, makes your head spin a little.

Icon or fox stage 2 with SPC LRS maybe 2g but you're gonna do your suspension right. Or do an OME! Maybe a little cheaper.

    285/75/16 is 33
    315/75/16 is 35

Main ones I would look at on the cheaper option is the bilstein 5100s, and ome. If you are gonna drop 1600 on a factory lift you very well could do some. Hunting on here for some Decent front coilovers (fox, icon, king, ads) and then do a aal and and 5100s in the rear for the same price. May even be able to catch a good black Friday deal and buy some coilovers, aal, and rear shock new for around the 1600 mark.

As long as we're on the topic does anyone have thoughts on the Toytec Boss suspension? Icon looked interesting but the fact that they're the only company I've seen use digressive shocks makes me question it.

My Toytext Ultimate has been meh. Underwhelming. But I'm not using it with their recommend specs, set to 3.25, airing them out on the easy trails, etc. I'm not a good representative of Toytexct.
    @Mr.Bl0nde where that vid??

@totmacher I made my wind deflector out of 1/4" Lexan. Still flappy with two bends (52" span).

Hey guys, my brother is moving to Memphis later this week, and I'll be helping him drive up there with my mother. I'm thinking we'll be there on Thursday, and I'll be hanging out and exploring till Saturday. Are there any cool touristy things we can do around town?
Also this means I might be visiting him every once in a while so I might come up and wheel with y'all at some point.
