Depends on what you do with it. There's no beating a deep cycle battery for any kind of sustained load or drain on it. I kill my batteries constantly from my truck just sitting, playing music at campsites for hours at a time, even using my winch without my truck running and every time they charge back up. You can mount them in any position, anywhere you want, they will crank no problem in -40° weather, they are compact enough to where I fit 2 in the place of 1. I got roughly 5 years out of both of mine with constantly fully draining them and the reason I got new ones was because they were dying after a few days of sitting but still worked fine on daily use. For us offroad/adventure folks, I just don't see any argument for anything besides a deep cycle. Brand and size is debatable.

    confirmed battery no good.
Looks like deep cycle, AGM, Optima, etc types have less cold cranking amps than standard cheaper batteries.

Would I even be able to tell the difference with say 610 vs 710 CCA?

edit. nevermind. vatozone computer was showing wrong size. He showed me group 24. Need 27.

I would vote no to the yellow top through my personal experience. I have never put one in my truck but in all our race cars we started with Optima batteries but they were terrible in a race car. We switched over to Total Power AGM batteries and have had the same one in one of the cars for 3 years and it doesn't skip a beat. If I remember correct we pay about $175-$200 for Total Power batteries. Some people have had good luck out of the optima's and my use of them was different so take it with a grain of salt

I got on an Optima kick a few years ago. Used 'em in farm tractors. They sit for months at a time, and get tortured once in use. Mostly on hard to start older diesels. Vibration is more intense on a tractor than on a car/truck. Lot of bouncing around because of no suspension. The Optima's had a much higher fail rate than I was comfortable with. At some point, I started replacing them with NAPA's rendition of the Optima red top. I've got a couple still in service that were bought in 2004. A little bit cheaper and a LOT longer life. Not saying there's not better, but the NAPA batteries have served me very well. And...I used a gift card to buy a Duralast agm style battery for my Tacoma. 3rd year, no complaints. I'll tell you in 4 or 5 years what I think of it.

yeah, i was finding a lot of mixed reviews on Optima.
I ordered a X2Power from batteriesplus. It's their private label for Northstar. Coupon code worked so that was a bonus.

Hopefully I can pick it up today and shakedown some other stuff on the truck before AOP.

Does anyone know a way to get a stuck cv axle out of the diff. Been fighting it a couple days now. Tried pulling, prying, and hitting it with a slide hammer with no luck. This this does not wanna come out.

Have you tried getting 2 pry bars on opposite sides and banging the shit out of both of them? Worked for me a few times when they are being stubborn. Easier with another person

Get another person and a long crowbar. Have the other person hold pressure pulling out on the long straight end. The hooked end is hooked on the groove in the axle. This frees up both yours hands to beat the ever living hell out of the crowbar. Two or three swings as hard as you can and it should pop out.

If none of this makes sense I’ll text you some fool proof pics this evening.

Same concepts as Carter's method. You can try holding both pry bars but it's not easy.
Do you have a pickle fork and a BFH? Might get lucky with that too. Worked on a pathfinder

    LOL.
BatteriesPlus declined my order. At least 10 days to get it in store.

    New plan...
