Good job guys. I wouldn't have extended those bottom tubes out so far. Really kills approach angle. Imagine how much more clearance you would have without the tube from the winch cradle to the outer wing. Cut off the straight out 45° piece and weld in a straight diagonal tube up higher to still support the wing and keep strength intact. Weld in a few gussets behind that tube to the main cradle.

Of course this is strictly for offroading, especially on rocks. If you don't plan on that kind of wheeling then nothing I said matters. Haha y'all did a good job regardless

Washed my truck twice this weekend. Still had mud dripping from AOP.

Can't get the tree marks out of all the little pits of the powdercoat on my front bumper where I bumped one pretty good.

A rock from that ditch I hit hard, the ditch that launched @Dave41079 's passenger, gouged my bumper and left a deep scrape all the way down front face of my skid plate. Looks like everything but the paint held up good. Had to wirebrush that and repaint it.

The 45° I think your talking about is actually one tube that goes under the winch cradle and bends up. Hard to tell from the photo but it's not strait up and down. It is angled back towards the truck and sits just under the blinker. The idea is that of there is to protect the front of the truck while directing any obstacle towards the wheel. I'll try to up load a side pic 2night. And we also have more braces that need welding, along with tow points and a 1/4" plate under the winch cradle.

Any reason I should not run my spare in the rear? Rear end is locked. Spare is the same size, but is new. So it will be a tiny bit larger. No sure if it would be enough to hurt anything.

Think the different wheel width and BS of the spare is what is making by truck drive crazy. I want to move it to the back to test my theory if I can.

02 Tacoma, fixed with curse words.

When I changed it the truck was my DD and made shit for money and I couldn't afford to have it down for any amount of time if it leaked. So I spent the couple extra bucks to change it while it's apart. Now that I have a DD and the trucks a toy, I would consider leaving it be.

so, welding the frame together for the trailer and I am trying to plan for the shackle/hangers for the leafs. I am using stock tacoma leaf springs (but dont have them with me)...Does anyone know the length of the stock leafs on the truck? From eye to eye? It'd be a huge help!

I can get them for you tomorrow as I have them under the house. Also make sure the center of the axle is on the 60/40 line. Make sure your tongue is long enough and then add a foot.

Thank you! For the 6" trailer length, I did indeed do the 60/40 for the center of the axle. I took the measurements from that line for where I THINK the front and rear mounts for the leafs will go. I have 2 supports running at about the 2' and 4' mark (adjusting slightly for the shackles). Ill have pics later on tonight hopefully.

For the tongue length (from the front of the trailer to the end of the 2.5" x 2.5" steel I'm using) I think 47" is what I am looking at:

from the hitch center to the edge of the bumper is 35". Adding a foot to this would put it at 47" and just by looking, that looks quite far. On the flip side, I may just make it 5" and add a little front tray for shit. . .what do you think?
