    I will say as cool as my 100yr old technology suspension that I used a tape measure 3 times total to build is, my next truck will be linked and coilovered. Not because I want them, but so my wife with 3 herniated discs can come wheeling with me and not wish she was dead, from pain, just from my rambling.



    And so I can try to drift circles around Gideon with my sfa rig and then pull an evrett and flop it into a lake.

    I have a choice when wheeling I could use an automatic but rather use my manual. When the day comes I get into my truck and it has no clutch and push button traction control I will just let someone else drive it for me. :rofl:

    Checkout Mobtown Offroad, I'd buy something from them, before I bought anything from SOS.

    I've got 1/4" Aluminum skids, and have beat the shit out of them. I think Aluminum is the way to go if your Taco is a daily driver.

    Its not to bad because your truck will end up forcing you to put the links in certain spots and you just have to see what doesn't bind.

    What are we even talking about anymore? Started out just purely sa vs ifs and not even in detail. Just simply ifs is more modern and there's multiple reasons why it's the standard in vehicles now. All this other crap is being taken to a place I didn't start the convo out talking about. Of course coilovers and links are better then leafs but better for what and how? Why aren't they the standard on today's vehicles if they are so much better? Once again, application specific comes into play some.

    Make sure we're having the same discussion before you question my intelligence. We can talk about the disadvantages and advatanges of every suspension part if you like, but that's not where this convo started.

    Yeah maybe one day I'll get an auto but up to this point in my life, I've never known any different then a manual. I think I just like holding a shaft ...

    Conversations are fluid and dynamic, lectures are static and rigid. Which is this? Coils and links in the rear is nothing new, neither are rear discs. FJ cruisers, Explorers, Jeeps, 4Runners, Land Cruisers, Land Rovers...it's a pretty extensive list. And as stated, trucks are starting down that path as well. We live in exciting times!

    By the way, I really enjoy busying your balls. Love you, mean it.

    That's what I have, took about 3 hours of actual work to install. Just follow the instructions and maybe get an extra set of hands. Save your money and DIY is my advice.
    Sorry, I'm not from that area so can't help you with shops if you decide to go that route
