    It made a huge difference in my rear diff as far as any locker noises go and a huge difference in my transmission where I was 100% sure my second gear was going out where it grinded every single time I shifted into it no matter how soft or hard and I switched from Mobil One to Amsoil and it immediately made it better to where it only grinds if I don't engage the clutch all the way which I do on occasion. I didn't think it would be that noticeable of a difference between 2 full synthetic oils but I witness it every time I drive my truck.

    I don't want to answer this right now. Fuck science.

    Just to give you something ..... a coil spring and a shock doesn't create a big enough surface area for load distribution. Keep in mind, your shock is solely designed for dampening (how the weight is moved around) and your spring is solely designed to carry that weight. Let's speak with the idea of just front to back of the bed. Ideally your load would be placed directly over a 90° vertical shock/spring. That would give you the best dampening capabilities and the most load capacity.

    In this example, all variables are identical except for the spring type and your bed is 72" long:

    Place a single shock and coil spring at 36". The spring diameter is 5". Set your weight directly over that 5" spot and you have ideal conditions for both the shock and spring. That leaves 67" of space for unideal conditions. Now place a single shock and a leaf spring at 36". The spring length is 48". Set your weight directly over that and you have ideal conditions for both shock and spring. That leaves 24" of space for unideal conditions. On paper, which would you prefer?

    Now there's a vast amount of other variables that come into play including how when the weight is moved to different areas of the length of the spring it creates leverage which creates differening dampening characteristics and load capacities and that it's much easier to precisely tune a coilover or shock/coil spring setup then a leaf spring setup because of how directly focused that 5" spot is making it so much more consistent. Blah blah blah BLAH!! FUCK!!!!

    It would clearly be much smarter if they used coils, like a bed spring matress, and strategically placed them in specifically marked locations where varying loads were placed. Who designs this crap!?
