I don't have the specifics, but dakars are good for carrying "some" weight. Mine were too stiff when the truck was young and light. Feel great now. Also think there are better options if you're planning to add a shit ton of weight.

Long term plan is rear swing out and bed rack or topper. Not planning for much more static weight than that

I can’t speak for the Dakar’s, as I have the Allpro Expdition pack. I keep my truck loaded all the time. I have a shell and steel rear bumper, so quite a bit of weight fulltime. The Allpros feel amazing on and off road. Night and day difference than the add-a leaf I had previously. They are pricey though, but I wanted a one and done solution and hope these last for many years.

Seems like it's a dead even race between pros/cons of all the leaf pack out there. Some are too stiff, some sag too early, some are noisy, etc...

My AAL is still curved even with the rear bumper, and some tools always back there. But I don't expect it to stay that way long term.

Love my Dakars. 10,000 mile road trip with the truck completely full of gear, tools, food, steel high clearance bumper with swingout, 35"spare, two full jerry cans, high lift, stupid shit, and two not small guys. They ride fantastic, flex well, and haven't sagged. I have the old version Dakars with the extra leaf and an overload removed. That would be the equivalent of the new HD Dakars with the extra leaf and an overload removed. Or standard Dakars with two extra leaves and an overload removed.

Headed to Windrock tomorrow (Saturday) for some light riding and beer drinking trying to find the abandoned train and satellite base. Nothing crazy, just making the best out of a rainy, cold day. So far myself and one other Tacoma

I run the expos on my truck, I actually pulled two leafs out when I swapped them in 6yrs ago, and just last year added two back in on the driver's side to counter act the Tacoma lean/Geoff fat ass effect. I pulled leafs because I got the leafs used for a good deal, I don't carry around a bunch of bullshit on and offroad, but wanted a spring that would not instantly sag like my deavers did. They flex good and have zero complaints!

The kicker in this situation is that ordering anything from AP right now is a major gamble. There's a thread on here somewhere, but the take home is that if you want to receive what you pay for, you should buy elsewhere.

    Basic 8leafs for a 1st Gen.

If you are getting a custom built set for you needs, ignore my deaver comment. I went with what was hot at the time in 2006 and it didn't work out too well for what I was doing with them.

Yea fuck them, only buy them if you find a used set for sale! Although because of their total incompetence and dicking me around on a disc brake kit, I bought an fj80 rear axle for less than I would have spent on their shitty product and have an infinately better solution!
