Any ideas about a slight hesitation on a cold startup?
Tundra v8 with about 130,000 miles.

Basic maintenance that was due anyway but doesnt seem to have affected anything so far:
    - New air filter
    - New spark plugs
    - Can of fuel system cleaner in gas tank (less than 100 miles since adding that)
    - Oil change.
    - cleaned MAF.
    - planning to clean throttle body in near future.

    Unknowns:
    - Battery is unknown age. Somewhere in 2-5 yr range i expect.
    - flex fuel system causing hard starts? There was some tsb about resetting % alcohol via techstream and sometimes getting a new fuel pump. Wouldnt say i have hard start. More like a brief stumble or slower to get up to idle as it starts sometimes.

Marvel engine oil flush solved my strange idle issues when I first got my 5.7, it had 275k miles then, now it's at 320k

Guess i could try oil treatment next oil change maybe.

It idles and runs smooth. It only hesitates at all on initial startup when cooler outside temperatures and only after sitting long enough to totally cool off everything. Like 5hrs or more sitting. If i shut it off right away and restart it starts good. Something about sitting and cold.

Does anyone have Techstream or some other bi-direction ODB reader? I want to read the alcohol fuel density and if that is high then do a fuel density learning reset.
I think the hard starting on my tundra is related to the flex fuel system misreading the ethanol content which causes it to inject the wrong amount of fuel when starting.

Have you tried pulling the battery cables for a day?

pulling battery doesn't reset that field in ECM according to Tundra forums. Specifically need to go into the menus to reset it.

edit: found TSB. Toyota says these learned values cannot be reset by disconnecting battery or pulling fuses. I'm way beyond mileage to get the TSB without paying normal shop rate.

That's to bad. Unfortunately I don't an OBD controller with programing capabilities.:( @allmotorrex or @11TRDTX might have one, or know someone that does.
