Who sells sliders that are made on the southeast. I want them for Friday.

 

Best bet is probably Trail Gear and get them rush delivered. I have no clue where their shop/shops are but they should have some already made in house.

 

Sliders. That name rings a distant bell.

 

6" lift = $725 + $66 for alignment. We can source the kit or you can bring it to us.
4.56 gears front/rear installed with all new bearings etc.. = about $2000

Thats about normal pricing on both those installs and I see the gear pricing because its to easy to fuck them up but that lift install price

I will challenge anyone without a vehicle lift to do it in under 10hrs. I'll even say it would be a challenge if you are handy with all the tools that are needed to complete the install.

 

I went with the trail gear ones. Shipped out of CA damn. A week be here Monday. Lets hope shipping is faster and gets here Friday. I bet my rock sliders get here before that truck from CA does, the way it's going.

I'm not going to argue the fact that some people would be comfortable with the install. Still, it's all about the amount of free time a person has and their value of that time. $70/hr labor rate is pretty damn good though....

But even then it all depends on the shop because a place like 4wheelsparts will have higher labor rates then a small mom and pop shop and from my experience, the mom and pop shops seem to do more quality work because they care about keeping their customers. The install hrs for things are determined by a book, which a shop originally wrote, and made to ultimately make the shop more money. For instance, in the book it says a front brake overhaul will take 3.5 hrs, u finish it in 2 hrs but still charge for the 3.5. Meanwhile u spend the rest of the 1.5 hrs working on something else and getting paid for 2 jobs at the same time. So at the end of the day u did 13 hrs of "work" in an 8 hr day. That's a good profit.

 

dang! Haha looks like it'd end up being around $6K for everything with new wheels and tires......that'll be a while. If I could just sell this Galaxie. Also, the jeep took a shit on me.(insert dodge=shit joke here) Took it to Fort O Auto, guy said he would be getting to it today. Sounded like something in the transfer case snapped but it also might be in the tranny. Getting new brakes while we're at it.....

Yeah, Im not even going to atempt cutting a cross member.

Especially when they do a great job and stand behind their work.

 

They do that because if they get to something and it doesn't end up going together smoothly, they already have you charged for that time. That way they won't come back to you and say "Well we ran into a few problems and it took longer than expected, so we're going to have to charge you an extra 3hrs of shop time." The time in the book has a small run over time factored in incase somethin goes wrong. In some cases it might end up saving you money.

 

My buddy that works at my Toyota dealership did his last frame swap in 12 hours and the job takes "25" hours

 

It finally is... But they said it would take 7-10 days to get here. Oh well, at least it's finally in route...

But I would agree. I would say it's a fair bet you'll see yor sliders before I see my truck..
