what you do wrong? lol. worked fine for me. i just taped around them and started spraying. did like 4 coats i think. I also cleaned them with rubbing alcohol.

 

Think it was the humidity. I prepped them with alcohol as well and did 5 coats. And when I went to peal off the excess they all peeled. Oh well they are gone now.

 

yeah probably is. It’s 93% humidity out. i wish it would get low so i can bed line my rear chrome bumper. i had it plasti dipped, but only lasted a year.

so now it’s strip the chrome off and i got some rustoieum bed liner in a spray can. but i think the humidity is to high and i wont have time to strip it, and get a coat on before it starts to get a little rust on it.

 

What are you going to use for stripper?

 

idk yet. maybe brake fluid. but i think it maybe kinda messy. if so probably do it back by the barn, or something.

from what i have read i can let it sit on for 10min and it will whip off. or may use a sander... also probably kinda messy. but idk. also i have to get the chrome off and look at the driver side, right where it starts to bend. it has a little rust starting. so got to look at that and try and do something to stop it from getting worse.

 

why not take it somewhere and get it blasted? There is a place in clinton that did my wheels before powder coat and only charged me 10.00 a wheel to blast them

 

really? what place? may look at do that.

 

It is a powder coating place. I can't remember the name but I can drive right to them. Out there in the industrial park

Ok guys need a little help. Searched but cant find anything. I popped the hood to check the oil and it appearsi have oil leaking out of my filler neck at the base. Is this a known issue and what do I do to fix it? I can slighty move the filler neck around and see a slight gap under it.

 

hmm. i have not read anything about that. but maybe it’s a possibility the filler neck is cracked?

hm. and what is it? a messed up seal?

 

The o ring has blown out it appears. Probably someone prior pulled it didn't seat it properly and over tightened is my guess. Why they would have removed is beyond me but some people just don't get it. But at least its not timing cover or anything else like that

 

Oh ok. Ya dont sound major at all. Thats a good thing.
