I'm going to mark it down on my calendar and hopefully go. Depends on my test schedule and what not, but if the weekend is clear, I plan on being there! I should know by the beginning of September, that's when we get our syllabi.

And Gideon, no, not even. Essentially working as nurses bitch/second assistant in surgery until med school. Beats the hell out of shadowing as I'm actually getting paid and get to scrub in and assist, so no complaints from me.

Man, should I buy an 05 access cab v6 auto with extras for 17k or should I buy a 10 DC for 24k. 7k is a lot of money to save. Decisions Decisions.

Whichever suits your needs best. If you have/plan on having kids in the future, I'd go ahead and get the DC just for the extra space you need. Not sure if the DC is a long bed (all AC's are long beds) but I sure wish I had a long bed at times for hauling stuff. Don't really care for the look of a DC long bed though.

x2. I love my DCSB. I have only wished i had a longer bed like 2 times in over 2 years. bed space it not really a problem for me. also if i need a bigger bed dad has a ’00 tundra and brother now has a ’11 with a 6.5’ bed. Most the stuff i haul that wont fit in the bed wont really fit in a 6’ bed either. like the atv’s, one we have to put something in front of it even on dads tundra, so it wont bust the back glass and the tail gate wont shut with a 6’ bed. the once every year or 2 they go to the dealer i can use another truck. only other time they go some where is to the mountains and we usually take the rhino as well, so it all just goes on the trailer.

DCSB FTW more room and .75" isn't going to make that much of a difference. Worst case get a bed extender. There's nothing quite like looking in the rear view and seeing your kid grinning back at you from the back seat.

Hahaha so your saying that if he gets the short bed then he needs to also buy a dad with a tundra to haul anything that won't fit in his bed? How is any of what you just said helpful? Stop rambling on about nothing Zachary!

My AC bed is 73". A short bed is 60". I have a 2' wide tool box in my bed and can still fit a 4 wheeler in the back with the tailgate down.

Advantages of AC: lighter weight, better visibility both on and off-road, driver feel of being in something smaller, long bed without looking like a yacht, not having to carry people around that you don't want to, in cab air heats up and cools down faster, you can reach the sliding window easily, better styling (if you don't like the 4door look), has a much shorter wheel base then a DCLB

Disadvantages: in cab storage space, passenger capacity, worse styling (if you like a big truck), slightly lower tow capacity

$7,000 is a huge difference. If you could use the dc then the price is worth it. If you wouldnt use the back seats that often then saving $7k is worth it.

There are times that I wished I had a dc for letting more people ride with me but I like everything else better about the ac. Where as Zach seems to need/use the 2 more doors but somehow can't fit a 4wheeler in his little baby bed

Soooo it's gonna be 11am tomorrow when I get my truck. I'm pissed and told them I need it ready by 11. If its not ready by then, we're going to have problems.

I'm not if its not finished. I drove by and looked at the truck. Rear hasn't even been started on but the front had the crossmember cut out and the new one put in. He's still got a while.

I can fit one of the 4 wheelers with tail gate down. Other one I can't because the way the front rack is, I can't put something between it and the front of bed. If I don't put something between the tires and front of bed it may bust the back window out. Plus it dose not really madder much, I don't take it places much other then the mountains and we usually have anther atv or the rhino going as well so it just goes on the trailer.

My only concern is the extended cab for 17k is an 05. I'm not sure if I want one that old and its in Pennsylvania which has me concerned about the salt and rust since he said the truck is his DD.

I found an 08 extended cab (different than above) with 77k for 21000 and the same lot has an '10 DCSB with 50k miles and 10' DCLB with 73k miles.

The two DC's have been on the lot for over a month and a half so I feel like they will be willing to get rid of them if they could. I'd rather have the DCSB for manuveribility.

Just trying to justify the price. If I can get it for 350-375 a month then I'll probably buy a DC. But if I can't then Ill buy the extended cab

But 4-5k different. Also these trucks can run 250-300k miles. What's another 20k?

i got my truck in may of ’11, it’s an ’07 and had 24,950 or so when i left the dealer with it. and i don’t remember what we paid, i think it was around 24k or so. it was a one owner and it was an older couple, truck looked hardly used at all.

edit: i really really wanted a SWB, but if like a 4 month time frame could not find one with with some what low miles, and in a DCSB with the TRD off road 4wd and tow package and auto trans. most we found where pre runners and i had to have 4wd. our drive way is pretty steep and, my cousin had a ’09 or something trd sport pre runner and could not make it up our drive way in the snow. also got the DC for if something happens to family in NY need to get 5+ people 655 miles. I love driving so if i go some where with a group of people i don’t really mind driving.

Haha yeah if you are really worried about miles then get a 2.7. Sounds like you don't really care whether you drive an ac or a dc as long as the truck is the same length. Haha and to get your number, you are gonna need a very low Apr (1% or lower) and get that truck number under 20 cause then taxes and tags will put you back up a few grand.
