Well I thought the 887s would have a heavier spring rate than 886s but it turns out they have the same as the 885s, they are just longer. So I want wrong. The 5100s should work fine.

Everybody talking about college makes me feel old.

 

Anyone got a pic of their cb antenna mounts. I want something I can attach close to the end of the inside of bed but be able to rotate it down when not using

I made my own mount and got a quick disconnect for the antenna

I made my own too... The actual mount looks alright buuuuut i had to run a ground wire and the coax run under the bed rail with zip ties.. so I'm just ordering a famous fabrication mount. It's the cheapest that mounts to the screws on the side of the bed and it comes coated for $35 shipped to you.

 

I have mine in the front middle of the bed and just ran the coax under the cleat rail. Drilled 2 small holes for zip ties. You can't even see the coax except for right at the mount. I'll snap a few pics and upload them in a bit.

 

Why do you need to rotate it? Using an L bracket like that it's not gonna stick up out the bed or stick into the bed much so why move it? Unless it just bothers you that it's there.

 

I thought about making something like that, but the quick disconnect is just as fast
