dont hate. haha and i didnt really do it for airing up the tires. I was more thinking about using it to blow things off, of coarse not in a gay way, and to use as a quick burst of air. After me and levi figured out how easy it is to pop a tire back on with starter fluid, we then realized you need a good amount of air in a quick burst to get the tire to seat back or its hard as fuck to make it happen. Thats more the direction i was going with it. But ........... when i first hooked up the compressor, i aired all my tires down to 10 psi in my driveway and timed it to see how long it would take to get to 35 psi. 3:15 was the time for 1 tire and i did all 4 in around 15 mins. The compressor ran constantly the whole time and did a pretty good job. Thats pretty fast for how small this thing is. and check this out Kurt ..........

    i got the CKMA12

Didn't do what we talked about last night. Decided after reading 4 peoples horror stories about their bed cracking or splitting decided 30.00 bucks wasn't worth the possible damage. So I made some mounts that mounted to the rails but also sat on the bed sides. Drilled some holes. Got some 3/4" steel pipe cut it to length( Had lowes cut it).

Then had to bore out the holes for the bars to go through. Made it where I can remove the racks and basket all in one with the help of another person should I need to haul something that is taller than the bed sides. Now trying to figure out how secure the rails in one place from sliding in and out of the supports since I had the bars cut 1.5" longer than they need to be. Just for a small handle on each side so It can be lifted or tie something to the ends incase I need to.

Either way here are the pics

The ends of each pipe are threaded but not threaded far enough to lock them in place. Plus couldn't find any 3/4" nuts to secure it with

High lift will be on the pass side as before but mounted to the cross bars

Adam what about drilling a 1/4 inch hole be put a cotter pin in it to keep it from moving. I like the caps on each end too. Or get some black 1 "abs pipe and sleeve over the end price and retain it with the cap .

That's a good compressor Gid 30 min on and 30 min off remember. Also is the leader hose getting hot? I know when I had my bagged truck the 3 viair's that I had the leader hose came right off the head and got really hot.

Got my off road wheels on now . Waiting on my skid plate and ready to ride. Might have a stock jeep come with me on 35's if he is in town. He is not hard core at all and possible trading it so it is iffy. My dad and now my lil brother are going to be coming so I am supper happy.

Alright so this wheeling trip is 4th of July weekend at windrock? If so, and I trade for this f250 I'm looking at today, I might come up there. Figured I'd spend it with my wheelin buddies at my home park but all of them are gettin bitchy. But, might load up the jeep, girlfriend, and a few buddies and head that way. I think it's only a 2 hour drive from chatt?

Yeah that's what I was saying about people cracking their beds. It's composite material, much like fiberglass. It will get stress fractures. I like your idea though, simple and looks decent. If you had a welder I'd say weld the tabs on but since you don't, I'd suggest the same thing Kurt did. Drill a hole in each pipe on the outer edge of the mount and use a cotter pin to keep it from sliding. I don't really like that idea that much because it still puts the rack free floating in the mounts but if you wanna keep it that way then I don't know what else to suggest

Yeah I'm gonna test it out today on a tire and see if the tank starting out full helps speed up the process. I'm thinking it will make it faster because the tank on the compressor is tiny. So it fills to 90 psi, or whatever, in like 2 sec which means that initially when I pull the trigger and release air, it comes out in a quick burst but it's very short. I tested this with the air gun and its like 2 sec of hard air then much weaker air. So after that quick burst then it's just putting out as much air as the compressor can push. The tank on the other hand puts out the hard burst of air for a lot longer so I would think it would fill up faster because of the longer spurt of the compressed air. Then in between going to the next tire, the tank will fill back up to 90 psi and I'll have that long burst of air again. I shall find out shortly.
    Where's this fuckin bumper!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found some rubber grommets that are 1 1/4" od and just under an inch id going to put those in each bracket so the bars don't bounce up and down. I filed the insides of the holes smooth so no jagged edges to cut the grommets. A s far as cotter pin idea I believe that is what I am going to do. Just gotta find some decent sized cotter pins. I know it's sturdy as hell. It held my 300+ ass on those bars sitting on them to test it out and they didn't flex. The mounts on the other hand did flex out a little bit but not too bad and I don't think even with tire, hi lift, extinguisher, and Jerry can you it will be over 200. Tire weighs 52 lbs. Wheel weighs 37 lbs. Hi lift I am guessing around 50 lbs. Extinguisher around 10 lbs. And Jerry can around 15 lbs (full). The basket on yakimas website says 150 lbs. And the hi lift won't be on the basket it will on the bars them selves. Found some small u bolts that are 3in going to use to secure the high lift and wing nuts

Yeah I'll def keep the time period in mind. Hopefully I won't be doing anything to keep it running that long anyway. As long as I don't be stupid and try and air everyone's tires up back to back. Haha. and naw the tube doesn't get hot. The only thing that does is the little silver air tank on the compressor. It gets hot fast and its like scalding hot.

and bringing some of the family should be cool. Do they ever off-road?

I wouldn't use a samurai for anything but a mud toy. They are perfect for that because they are so light
I believe in you! 2 hrs ain't shit. You can wheel with your buddies at your house everyday of the year but you can only come to this meet once

Grommets won't work but went to advance and just picked up about 7 ft of 1 in id 1 1/4" od hydraulic line. It fits perfect and tight . Also going to use it on the handle side as a rubber grip for lifting the whole setup off the truck. Got some 3/16 x 1 3/4" cotter pins. Going to do one outsides of each pipe

And the results are in ........ 2:28. That was from 10 psi to 35 psi in 1 tire. The compressor fills the tank up to roughly 85 psi and then cuts back on at about 50 psi. So that made a big difference. With just the compressor it did 3:15. With the tank added it did 2:28. Not bad
