^ true. I love playing in the mud but it takes forever to clean it all out.

Levi, what were those plates you had where your front bumper mounted to your frame? I think I saw an all-pro sticker there or something.

 

That was from my old Fox shocks they where my reservoir mounts, I didn't bother taking them off for the trip because I ran out of time

 

Ah, ok lol I didn't get a good look at them and was wondering what they were.

 

Painted one side of my skid tonight and gave the inside of my truck a huge wipe down to get rid of the dust from windrock.

 

You gonna put that thing on soon? I bet you will feel a lot better about smashing on rocks now. Haha

 

What are you going to do about a rear bumper now, idea wise?

 

Finally found some shackles that fit with very slight modification. Well not shackles but the pins. The new puns fit surprisingly well in the 3/4" shackles. Got them painted and drying now. Will be on tomorrow. Hopefully the new fairlead will be here tomorrow. And ..... I got a light bar and you'll never guess how much.....

12.00 shipped. Found it on ebay it's a no name brand 23 in double row cree led. But i noticed the seller had a ton so yesterday morning I put a bid in for 10.00. ( starting price was .99 ) it stayed that way until about 3 am this morning with 3 minutes left my phone went off and said I had been outbid. No shit right. Well I checked the bud against mine and it said 11.00 so I increased my max bud to 12.00 ( playing dangerous I know) about 2 min later that same ebay tone went off.... YOU WON. I'm still waiting for the seller to back out but who knows.

Me too. It's even white. But if I don't I won't be upset I mean come on really? A 23" Double row cree for 12.00 as long as I don't get a picture of one I'll be happy.

 

Build one. I wanna do a high clearance, about as high as I can get it. Like maybe a center section just tall enough to fully weld a receiver hole. So probably a 3" tall center section with receiver hitch, 2 holes for lights and 2 shackle recovery points. Make those out of 3/4" and sleeve them for more strength. I'll recess the receiver hitch and use a flip up license plate bracket to cover it and mount the plate, just drill and tap holes for it. I haven't put much thought into what to do with the license plate lights but I'm thinkin just do somethin like stock and cut out two holes or just drill and tap holes next to the license plate and surface mount them then just tie the wires up neat. Then for the side pieces, just a 2 piece side with one piece being a few inches 90 deg vertical then something like a 45 deg piece to help slide off of a rock. Put maybe a 2" flat border all the way around the bottom to keep from catching on something when coming straight off a rock. Then a bar on the side for some bedside protection. Something similar to the BF bumper with a sloped hoop style bar so that it rises slightly as it goes toward the tail light.

Chris, the guy that just did the tube bed that lives near Nashville, has the outer bedside pieces and frame mounting brackets from an ATO. I'm goin to Nashville this weekend for a wedding and he's gonna let me get them from him. That gives me frame mount pieces or templates and side pieces that I can modify with the things I already mentioned. There's a welder I work with that can get any thing I need laser cut and any metal I need for union cost. So I should be starting within the next few weeks. Considering I have no rear bumper and no license plate right now and I've been pulled over twice for it now, I should probably get on that asap. Hahaha
