My VIN is affected but so far all is good at 9000 miles. This should definitely expedite the process for anyone who is having transmission problems.

No hybrids. Wonder why? Could be that all hybrids are a later build date. But we had a pro on here with transmission failure. That’s not promising.

I think if your ride is effected they will send out a tsb notice in the mail to get fixed as soon as possible if it’s a safety issue.

Anyone know roughly the latest build date that these VINs stop at?

Isn't it different for a TSB? A recall is like you described, but I thought a TSB was "if there is this particular symptom, this is a known issue and here is the fix".

That way they're only replacing the problem units, and not doing a widespread replacement.

I don't know for sure, though.

Yeah a TSB is not necessarily safety related . It’s just a fix — and I would imagine that after they sorted out the fix, the new Tacoma vins have the fix already built in

Thank you for the VIN post. If this matters, I purchased my Taco in March. I'm not on the list. Crossing my fingers...

I wonder what variations there could be on the AT and why some are included and some not? Anyone notice any clear pattern?

I apologize but I don't have a darn clue how to interpret this. My VIN is 3TYLC5LNRT002529. Tacoma Pro.

I have looked an do not see "LN" anywhere on the list. Can anyone translate my VIN and determine if it is an affected truck? I'd really appreciate it!

    Thanks!

I have a Trailhunter. I don’t think any hybrids are in this bulletins based on the Vins. Our trucks are excluded. Not sure if that is good or bad.

Honestly guys, I would treat that TSB as only applying to the non hybrids for now but fully expect their to be one for the hybrids once they identify the transmissions that went to the hybrid build line. Or it very well may be that hybrids will not be affected by the issue and the one Pro that blew was a one off. So damned if you do, damned if you don't I guess. Enjoy your trucks!

Are those “ranges” or the actual vin numbers? If the later then it is 6 trucks affected.

Did the TSB come with a date range for repair like some of the others, if not I would trade em in prior to 60K or whatever extended warranty you may have. I'm not sure if that Doc would have the date range, in bulletins past the date range for repair have been on the doc's they send you in the mail.

They aren't going to replace them until they fail, I would want to know if they were going to replace if they fail out of the warranty period and how long. Especially with such an expensive component as a transmission.

EX (3rd Gen high pressure fuel pump said 10 years I think)

These VIN ranges are casting a very wide net. Don't lose any sleep over it. My tryck was produced the last week of July, isn't even an automatic transmission, yet my VIN is in the range. pfft.

Would love to know just what they determined the cause to be and what the "fix" is that went in after those VINs.

I know mine was August 2024 but I cannot see the exact date - where did you find the day / week on your truck
