I imagine it should help. probably wouldnt expect a major increase, but being able to watch real time mpg stats and see exactly what gives better/worse mileage will help you adjust your driving habits accordingly. This is the way I see it...

I get about 17 mpg right now,
If this helps me improve by only 1 mpg average per tank and I usually fill up about 18 gallons,
Gas is average $4.50 right now x18 gallons = $81 which yields about 306 miles per tank.
If this improved my mpg to 18, then i would get about 324 miles per tank, which saves me exactly 1 gallon of gas per tank.
I fill up about 2-3 times per month, do that is a savings of $9.00-$13.50 a month.
The ultragauge will cost me $53 after discounts, rebates, and added shipping.
This means that the unit will pay for itself in 4-6 month exactly, and from then on out, will begin saving me $108-162 per year, assuming gas prices dont go up (which they will  )

It is a no brainer investment. Besides the small savings it produces daily, it will also instantly pay for itself the first time you throw a check engine light, in any vehicle! Plus its just stright up cool as heck to have ;)

Yes you can calibrate it to bigger tires. I had one in my Toyota already. I loved it. The only reason I'm getting a couple more is because the one I had, I took it off of the mount on a hot day to keep it out of the sun and accidentally slammed it in between the dash and the door lol, crushing the screen. I'm also putting one in my Chevy. It's totally worth it, if not, I wouldn't be in on this group buy.

sorry to hear that. at least it wasnt the more exspensive scan gauge. But anyways, how do you go about programming the mph and distance? My stock speedo and odometer are reading incorrectly so wouldnt that send the same incorrect info to the ultragauge?
Or does this mean i will have to go to toyota to get my truck speedo and odometer reprogrammed? I am almost sold on this. Its like one of those toys that i just have to have :D

Yes, the gauge will also receive the same 'false' information. In the options on the ultragauge, you can manually input larger tires or gear changes and the percentage that your speedo and odometer is off by will now reflect correct information on the ultra gauge only. Doing this will not fix your actually speedometer or odometer, but you can look at the ultragauge for the correct info.

Also on another note, the truck comes from the factory reading 2mph slower than true mph. When upgrading tire size, it usually corrects this problem to reflect true mph. I have 32's and my odometer is now 2mph faster than it used to be, but in reality, its dead accurate. 33's make it about 1mph faster, but really not my much of a difference. Unless you have 35's, then your speedometer is probably more accurate now than it used to be when stock. But hopefully if you have anything larger than 33's, you should have regeared, which would then fix your speedometer anyways.

This is a common misconception with our trucks regarding mph inaccuracy after tire size change.

Regardless, the UG can be programmed to display whatever you want it to display, and can be programmed to compensate for those changes if you wish. However, it cannot be used to reprogram your actual speedometer or the trucks computer.

    Hope this clarifies for you.
