Haven’t updated yet. When I left for work at 2pm 1.3 wasn’t released yet. I’ll be grabbing it tonight or tomorrow when I get home.

Sorry, not trying to be a jerk about this. Just myself and some others have beat our heads on this adaptive CC thing for a while and don’t see how to make it work in regular or Pro version, and some of the new EROM’s are only on 04B04, definitely true on 1.3.0, so just curious if anyone has been able to make it work.

I know you test your stuff well. Just battling my own demons here and it sounds like you may have already slayed them. Just trying to figure out if you have a special demon slayer sword or something myself and others don’t have.

No I don’t blame you. I was confused as to what you were asking at first. Just felt odd to me that potentially out of hundreds of trucks using VR none would have adaptive cruise.

Maybe I did manage to solve what you’re referencing on accident and never really noted it.

I’ll send you a copy of VR later this week to run if you’d like. Maybe you can recreate something. I’ll also make a list of where cruise should shift in each file, so you can reference that as you go as well

Check your 04C20 and new 04C21 files and see if there is EROM on them.

I talked to Jeff about this in depth tonight. Adaptive cruise control isn’t probably going to be supported unless we make another stink about it.
I sent these pictures to mat 2 years about when discussing the adaptive cruise issue.
Regular cruise recovery speed is normal
Adaptive cruise recovery speed is hi speed

Been pouring over the files in 1.3 tonight. I’m seeing a huge inconsistency in EROM maps across different ECU’s.

04B04 has tons, but I also unlocked the test file a while back so maybe that opens them?

04A61 only has EROM upshift, downshift

04B33 has more than A61, but less than B04,

04B81 only has EROM upshift, downshift

04C20 and 04C21 have no EROM maps at all.

Not sure how any tuner is supposed to make consistent tunes across multiple ECU’s with this much variability in map access with stock files.

I’m also on peasant vF. Maybe Pro doesn’t have the same inconsistency.

Yeah. I’m sure there is a lot more stuff to get done on Mat’s side. Which is interesting why he released all he did…

Just got back from 2400 mile round trip from Washington state to Moab, Utah and back. Truck weighed about 6,000 lbs and we ran speeds of anywhere from 70 mph to 85 mph. Overall mpg (including off roaring) was 17.3 mpg. This was running the premium octane tune and using ECT for all highway miles. Truck drove really well with one exception- cruise control. Transmission behavior on cruise control needs some improvement. Otherwise, truck drove wayyyy better than stock. I’m also on 33 inch mud terrains with stock gears. Overall I was happy and got better mileage than I expected.

Cruise does suffer when loaded down. Our trip to and from WA and OR in May was great minus the weight aspect. We lightened the load half way at some family member's house and it was great afterwards.

This is being addressed in future developments. It is a torque limitation along with a transmission expectation issue. The transmission has targets for input shaft and output shaft speeds when using cruise control. If these are not met, a shift will not occur. You can "force" a shift by doing a light tap on the pedal, thereby causing the truck to reference non-cruise maps momentarily. This is one of the proof of concept quirks I found with testing of future features.

VR 3.0 and on will incorporate MANY MANY changes to the transmission logic.

I've not seen those CC EROM's for 04C20 and 04C21 2021 ECU's in vF. Does vF Pro have them? Other pro tuners have sent me screen shots showing the EROM's are missing for all those maps in Pro as well. I'm really looking for a reason to go pro, and CC might be it. Without those EROM's, not sure how CC can be "tuned".

My pro link does not have 1.3 attached to it it seems. I only have the download for pro 1.2.9.9 at this time.

I'm wondering if anyone else with the Pro software has been able to get 1.3 yet? If so then I'll definitely need to ask Mat to update my link.

Here is a list of what 04B04 has for cruise settings in pro

oh that steady state.. I wonder if that is how much droop or plus set speed you can have..

Those are in Reg also. What I'm saying is other ECU's, 04C20 and 04C21 for example don't have them, so how do you tune CC if that ECU doesn't have them? So the post above from the 2021 owner with CC not working well can be explained that way. Maps are not yet available for all ECU's, but vF is working on it. Post same screen from 04C20.

Yea 2021 is the only trucks who don't yet have CC maps which is odd but thats a VFTune software update.

Some ECU IDs like you said do not have all the cruise maps available yet either. Eventually I hope this is uniform across the board.

Until then the only cruise edits we are able to make are to the cruise shift points, however Radar cruise will not reference them. If you activate cruise but NOT adaptive mode, it references them. @uploadadventure and I have discussed this in great detail last night.

I'm fairly certain that the adaptive settings for hi-speed vs normal as he mentioned above is a simple 0/1 value map within the ECU files. But until Mat and his developer's find which one it is, we are stuck with it.

I do really like how all these "Pro" features eventually just trickle down to the normal software. Hopefully new features are available in the 1.3 pro release
