I’m not sure but I would say yes since the latest updates are meant to identify those who use outdated software.

I update every time one is released

Does anyone know of an installer in the Philadelphia and/or New Jersey area?

I'm here, NJ or Philly. S.NJ would be better, I'm cool with either

Another couple of questions, I finally got to check and I am on 04C20, so I am about to purchase the tune through the website. If I have a TRD Pro with the Pro exhaust, would that constitute as having exhaust mods? I am also running aftermarket tires in the same size as stock, but slightly beefier. They are roughly 1lb heavier each over stock. Should I still keep it as stock 31" tire size?

Also, I am about 1k miles out from my 5k service, if I take it in are they going to automatically update me to 04C21, and if so is that going to cause any issues if I leave the tune on and they update it?

    Thanks again!

You should select no exhaust mod. Exhaust mods are for less restrictive set ups like MBRP or Borla type kits.

Put your tire size from the sidewall into goodly and add “in inches” to the search. Use the value it gives you and choose the closest to that.

The dealer SHOULDN’T update you from most people’s experience. They typically ask before doing this it seems. At least my dealer charges $35 to update it…

By time you go in for service I’ll have the C21 files linked through the website and you’ll be good to go.

Last question I promise lol. I need to extract the files from the zip before flashing, correct?

    Yes

Otherwise it won’t open the file correctly, if it does it most likely won’t flash properly

We are working on it. Right now test trucks for this seem to line up then change their mind.

If you have VFTuner and would be willing to test the tune for me as we develop it then that would be great.

I don't currently have the VFTuner. Would possibly be interested in testing the tune, but to be honest I am not super mechanically included & definitely a "newbie" when it comes to Tacoma's & car maintenance.

Not sure I'd be the best guy for that. I think you would have a HUGE market if you came out with a good product though. Countless guys on here complaining about the 4cyl lack of power.. not a complainer, 4cyl is just the only truck in my budget unfortunately.

That’s the boat most 4cyl guys find themselves in. The tricky part is getting everything to work with forced induction. If you were a NA engine it would be easier honestly.

I’d need someone who can provide recorded data to test the tune so it’s safe to use with the engine long term

After having the OV tune since January I decided to give the Valley Runner tune a try. Yesterday @Grossomotto installed the Valley Runner tune on my 2020 Tacoma Off Road. I did a highway drive last night and there was a noticeable increase in throttle response above and beyond what the OV tune provided. If I see even a minor increase in mpg I'll be a happy camper.

Get 500ish miles on tune let it settle in . Your mpgs should have increased more by then.
