    nice post :)

just eyeballing the system made me think about unused space. thanks for putting it in graphical form!

i am also concerned about the lack of access to the rear cubbys. i've got my rear power in there.

So to address the lack of access to the cubbies...
True you do lose immediate access to those cubbies but they aren’t completely off-limits. The number of times I’ve needed to access my power in the cubby has been ZERO. So if I really need to troubleshoot or add to the electrical in there, I would just remove the drawer, loosen the top deck of the cubby on that side and move the cans to access.
I’m not saying it would be super quick but it is still doable.

I have a lock on my tailgate. I bought it when I installed my Bakflip cover. With the tailgate closed and locked you can't really get into the Decked system. I've since gone to a camper shell but I still feel the tailgate lock does a decent job. Add locks to the drawers and this thing will be like Fort Knox. At that point, they will probably get pissed and vandalize your Taco.

    Alrighty guys and gals!
I’ve now significantly tested (Utah was a blast!) the drawers in various conditions (including rain finally in SoCal) and I’ll be finalizing the review thus far.

Doing this on mobile isn’t ideal so I’ll post up ASAP from my laptop with photo edits to follow.

In the meantime, I’ve had some private messages about specifics of securing the drawers, compatability with particular gen Tacomas, and fitting various items (of great importance to you) in the drawers. I think I’ve replied to everyone thus far. What I would ask is to post your questions here in this thread for the benefit of others as well. It’s likely your concerns are shared by others.

    Thanks all!
    Cheers

@MTNHABITOVERLAND any clearance issues with bed stiffeners? I know there's a few manufacturers out there with slightly differences in design. But I guess guestimate? Hehe

Not at all. There’s a good 3” clearance. I’ll get you a pic shortly.

This is an overhead shot of the tailgate passenger side. I have the TC bed stiffeners and that is a protein shaker for reference. *Please excuse the Utah sand. Lol

UP NEXT ON THE TO DO LIST:

    1. Solar wiring for the GoalZero generator (access cutouts)
    2. Mount fridge and slide (current bed rack prevents this with the decked drawer height)
    3. Obtain and install Coretrax for long bed Tacoma.
    4. Mount/secure spare water/shower setup and rotopax.
    5. Install bed lighting and correct existing electrical on both passenger (@ProForce) and driver side. @ProForce installed a sweet aux setup for me previously but my dumb ass:annoyed: allowed cargo to slide around and sheared off a switch.

    MORE TO COME!

A quick bit of an update...
It’s been about 3 (fun) months since installing the DECKED drawer system.

My daily weekender has gotten smile miles behind her. From Utah to Arizona to San Diego deserts, the drawer system hasn’t budged at all!

    3844132B-D769-44B9-944C-5826E33D458D.jpg
    Adventures:
Miles and miles of off-road terrain including hard, fast washboards, drop offs, mud, sand, water crossings and rocky terrain...the drawers remained solidly in place! I even peered at the bolts that connect the cabside brackets...completely intact/no loosening at all.

    Daily:
50 miles/day in traffic, speeds up to 75 and street driving including speed bumps. It doesn’t move an inch! Parked at work for hours on end, I don’t worry anymore about someone breaking my windows just to get to an exposed storage bag or gear. It’s all locked up tight in the back. No temptations. This goes for my firearms while traveling as well. In California the gun carry laws are strict (to say the least). It’s nice to know I have a rolling lock box now.

    BC93267D-3A9E-4C57-8272-AC1360DA2DC7.jpg
Overall, after many miles I have to say I’m very impressed.

    Improvements:
One item I would like to see improved (not sure it’s even possible), is the fine silt and dust that gets in. This is an issue Decked is not only aware of but states in their documents. This ONLY happened after many miles of traversing this type of terrain. @TheDECKEDGuy could possibly work on some sort of cover for the drawers to sit in the inlay of the sides to help with this. Something like a hard cover would take away from the storage space but might be a consideration for the future as a fabric cover.

    Cost:
I would still leave the price point up to the consumer to weigh out for their usage. I can say now that I’ve had it, it has definitely met and even exceeded many of my check off list items and the high standards of performance I have for my truck and the gear I place in it.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Thanks for all of the great insight and reviews Nicole! We have thoroughly enjoyed everyone's reviews and write ups about the system and after a fair amount of patience and now some good hard use and abuse we are pleased to see it is still performing for you as promised.

    To address the two requests:
    1. Silt and dust etc: yes that is a factor and it just is what it is. That's not to say at some point we will come up with a seal for the drawers but the way it's made and designed to work easily we don't know how to accomplish this. We just tell people not to put their open peanut butter jar in there or their laptop.
    2. Price! Well, you can't make some things inexpensive enough for everyone. And we are acutely aware of the expense. Our business model is to create as much value as we can for the customer and attempt to sell as much volume as possible. We are not in the price gouging business, but it is 200lbs of engineered steel and HDPE with a ton of moving parts so the price is sort of what it is.

We'd love to use your photo above for our social if that is cool with you!
    -Greg @ DECKED

You mention your suspension helps with the Decked. What are you running?

How do you like your Columbus RTT?
