Any updates on remedies for the drl turning on randomly when the truck is off?

 

Anyone see the Gen 2 version of these lights? Seems like they increased the light output by using all three projectors for the low beams with a dual Bi-LED setup, added a new startup sequence, and even include a fuse tap for non TRD trims.

Does gen2 still cause radio static?

 

Any good output shots against a wall with the new Gen2? I think I saw a picture but it still had a yellow cutoff. Really bummed that an expensive headlight like this doesn't have the modern look of a sharp color cutoff. Maybe if I see the new cutoff it will change my mind and cancel my Alpharex order.

 

Would HID work well in these??

 

Nope, no changing the bulbs in these. They are LED projectors in a completely sealed unit, no bulbs at all.

 

Got my Gen2 installed tonight. Didn't get a chance to drive around yet as it's raining here.

Also noticed that the side markers are now amber instead of smoke in the Gen1. No complaints here as I prefer the amber over smoke.

 

So, all three projectors are ignited in low?

Didn't the first gen only activate the outermost two projectors with the high beam being the third?

Yes. Gen2 uses all three for lows. It's now a bi-led setup to activate the high beams.

 

I can't say. I use carplay and stream my music.

 

I love the triple low beam, super bummed about the amber side marker though

 

Did you order these on Black Friday ? How did you make sure you got 2nd gen

 

I ordered my 2nd generation set Monday and received them today. It was news to me that they had even updated them until I noticed the price increase. When I opened the box today I was also surprised to see the amber side markers. They don’t really bother me, but the strange part is I watched two different YouTube videos on the new ones, and they both had the smoked side markers.
