Hmm yeah I noticed that too. I only noticed the updated ones when I was going to watch the instal one more time tell mine come in. I hope I get the 2nd gen I like the idea of 3 lights and the updated high beam. The side marker doesn’t bother me

I did order during BF sale. I just looked at the description and it said Gen2. If they sent me a Gen1, it would've been false advertising.

I will say I am a little disappointed that there is still only one high beam on each side, even dual biLEDs would have been nice. I bought these with the hopes to not install pod lights to make up for the massive lack of high beam the morimotos have.

The Gen2 are dual and bi-leds. They use the two inner of the three for highs. Unless I am misinformed.

Just the inner most one acts as a high beam. I have the same highbeam pattern as the gen1s I removed from the truck

It seems I was wrong. Just hard to tell the difference. Also of note, on the Gen2, due to the bi LED highbeams, they are no longer independently adjustable.

First image is low beams (sorry for the fogs being left on)

    Second is highs on

Third is only the high beam of the center globe

Fourth is the inner most globe only

Fifth is combined with the outer low beam covered

Well crap. Just now learning there's a gen2 set. Looks like I'll be waiting for a sale and I'll pic these up and sell my gen 1s

Seeing these pics reminds me that I need to check my beam patterns and make any necessary adjustments if needed

Can you please do an output shot further away with low beams only? Got the Alpharex but disappointed with the output.

If you guys want the performance specs on the Gen1 vs Gen2, they will be covered in the 3rd Gen headlight thread.

AlphaRex is well documented to be an illegitimate headlight, just rebranded China Alibaba products at a significant domestic markup, that are not a compliant headlight product.

Awesome! I'll be looking forward to your comparison review. Highly debating picking up the gen2 and selling my gen1 set now.

Is it normal that my daytime running lights stay on even when I turn the switch to the off position?

Did you use the fuse tap wiring?

Looks like you have a TRD Sport. If you do, you don't need to connect that one. Remove the fuse tap and connect the matching connector on the headlight on both sides.

Fuse tap are for SR and SR5 models without factory DRL.

    Should look like attached.
