It is funny how morimoto has gen 1 adjustment pic on the website instead of the gen 2

I got mine in the mail yesterday and when looking at them I noticed a white bag visible inside the housing on both headlights. Does anyone else with these see this too?

Silica bag to pull out moisture, they all have them.

Got mine from Hotshot Offroad on Saturday, and had them on about 20 min later. After I adjusted them up I couldn’t believe how much better they are over the stock projectors.

I can understand that they would all have them. I'm just curious on the placement since after shaking and tapping the housing they don't move. And if they all come with this installed is the location the same.

Anyone have there drl’s randomly not turn on? I had led drl’s so didn’t use the tap and prefer not to since I’ve heard some issues. Once I put it in drive it randomly turned back on

You won't get full bright white drls without the fuse tap. I use the fuse tap on mine in the INJ fuse slot and they dim when lowbeams are engaged

Anyone have this issue before with the XB's? One of my low beams just randomly went out. Checked the fuses, checked the ground (which I thought was the cause of it because I had just reconnected the battery after disconnecting it) but no dice.

Talking with Morimoto now, but figured I'd ask around here too.

It's all fed off the same community connection so I am guessing you had an LED fail or dislodge somehow. Uncommon for sure, but clearly not impossible. I'd guess they'll be sending you a new housing.

Oh well, hoping the warranty process doesn't cause any issues! Thanks for the comment!

Question. Is it normal for the bright DRLs to turn on automatically when starting the truck, even when in the off position on the stalk? I am using the fuse tap for the bright DRLs, but don't necessarily always want them on.
I start the truck and the bright DRLs are on. I turn the stalk to DRL and the bright DRLs stay on. Turn on the headlights and the DRL dims a bit, which is expected.
Just wondering if it's normal for the DRLs to always be on when using the fuse tap.
If I don't use the fuse tap everything works as expected. DRLs are off when stalk is in the off position. DRLs come on when turning them on. (although not the bright mode)
I may just remove the fuse tap so I can turn on the DRLs when I want them on, but I'd be missing out on the extra bright bad ass DRLs.

What you have observed is correct. My morimotos behave in the exact same way, also using the fuse tap for extra bright white drls. Only difference is my stalk "OFF" gives me bright white drls, while my stalk "DRL" setting gives me amber drls because I drive an SR5.

Removing the fuse tap will give you "off" functionality back and you won't have extra bright white drls iirc. Not entirely sure if the start up dance is also tied to fuse tap, would have to test that

Thank you, I appreciate the response. I think I'm going to remove the fuse tap. I've got the amber DRLs and they are bright amber when in the off position. Although I love the bright DRLs, I like the option of being able to turn them off when I want. Kind of a bummer but it is what it is I guess. Hope I don't lose the start up dance too. I can always go back if I choose.
Thank you. Have a safe and Happy New Year.

So I haven’t updated because holidays have kept me from doing it, but Morimoto sent out a new headlight to me with a payment to reserve the replacement, and they’ll refund me when I send the bad one back. Overall good experience but I’m sure they’re swamped with the holidays. Give them some time to get back to you, and they should hook you up!
