Same. My passenger side went out last summer. Contacted them, they took my cc to ship replacement, and refunded when I sent defective back. Seamless process for me.

Question for you folks. Should i buy morimotos gen 1 used for $700 or wait until Black Friday for gen 2 for about 1k. Is performance from gen 1 to 2 worth the wait and extra $300-$400? Thanks!

so got my set a month ago and maybe I wired something wrong but do the drls not turn completely off? I turn mine off and they stay on the whole time. It might be in here somewhere but I can’t find a picture of how all the cables should be connected. Also sometimes my lights seem to come on randomly, seen it’s an issue but haven’t read how to fix it if there is a way.

I was having what sounds like the exact issues you describe. Bright DRLs were always on, even when in the off position. Bright DRLs would randomly turn on after parking the truck. Noticed them coming on in the middle of the night. Are you using the fuse tap? I was using the fuse tap originally and removed it. Now everything is in working order. When my stalk is in the off position, everything is off. When I switch to DRL, bright DRLs come on. Headlights in the on position, DRLs dim a bit as expected. I recommend removing the fuse tap if you're using it. Solved all my issues. - 2020 TRD OR.

Which wire is the fuse tap? Sorry a bit new to doing my electrical. Is it the wire that I ran to the fuse box because isn’t that supposed to be there to turn on the drls

Yes, that long wire that runs to the fuse box. I thought I needed that for the bright DRLs, but nope.o_O

Ok so I removed the fuse tap but now the bright drls won’t turn on when I turn my drls on. I have my grill lights wired to my drls and those turn on. I guess I’ll mess with the wiring and see how it all work without the fuse tap, maybe it’s just something else I didn’t wire right.

Did you reconnect the plug where you removed the fuse tap from?

Edit: I ask because it sound like you're doing everything I did.

Hahahaha no, I just removed the fuse tap from the fuse box. When I get a chance I’ll reconnect the plugs and report back how it went.

I know exactly where you're coming from!
I was reliving my install through you, lol.
Glad it worked out for you.

Installed xb gen 2 today got the left in, plugged in all the connecters it was pretty straight forward. Went to check function and I have no low or high beam? Everything else works, directionals in both modes, marker light and DRL. Again only the left side installed ran outta time so old one went back in. No install directions came with the lights.

Any ideas? Help is much appreciated! TIA

No install directions came with mine either but they're available on the morimoto website. I tried attaching them for you but file size is too big. :(

Edit: go here for the installation guide: https://www.morimotohid.com/16-amber-tacoma-xb-led-headlights-morimoto?quantity=1
Look for the "INSTALLATION GUIDE" button.

Thanks for the link. I've read through those already sorry should have said that. So I did match all the correct plugs, then triple checked them but they're all distinct so pretty hard to mess that up though stranger things have happened. Yeah so not really sure where I went wrong but still no low or high beams.
I wouldn't think it would matter but do both headlights have to be installed?
    Any ideas?

I should note that I didn't read through all 139 pages of this thread.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure. I did the full install in one shot and had both low/high beams in the end. I wouldn't think it would matter to install both either but???
I did run into a couple other issues; see post #2767 but nothing with the low/high beams themselves.

Edit: Note that I had the halogen lights, not OEM LEDs. Not sure that makes any difference. I see you've got a PRO and not sure if that came with the OEM LEDs.

No these are for my daughters truck, 16 Limited with halogens.
I just looked at them again and both the high & low beam plugs are the same, go figure. I may have had them reversed but did unplug them several times :confused:
When I get time I'll give them another try.

    Thanks again!

My high and low beans on mine randomly went out last night on both sides. Checked the fuses, none were out, double checked the wiring and all was good. Any suggestions?
