*UPDATE*

They are compatible with all models and are plug N play. Base models will have an amber drl apposed to white since they do not have stock led drl. I will post an example once made about which models will have what. This info is coming directly from MATT at TRS.

At this late in production and they are finding out what models are/are not supported....
I love Morimoto products, but I think they bit off a little more than they can chew expanding into so many different headlight categories too fast.

So if my SR5 doesn't have stock LED DRL's, I won't have the full functionality of the lights?? I'm stuck with amber DRL's?

That is pure and total bullshit.

 

i remember there was a teaser pic of a SR with these headlights installed and they had white DRL's

so will the amber DRL's still be on when the low/high beams are turned on? will they turn white?

yeah, it's frustrating that these issues have come up now since i assumed prototypes were thoroughly tested. i'm afraid of what more is to come a few months after installing them. i better keep my stock ones around just in case.

 

Not exactly as different models have different features. Basically if you have a drl off option on your turn signal stock then they'll function normally. Base base models will be amber drls because they don't have this feature.

Thanks for this post. Anyone who have these options in the it turn signal stalk will have functionality of the headlights as normal. I will use this picture in my example if you don't mind. As far as I know, only SR models will have amber drls

I believe it depends on the year. Example, 2016/2017 may not have the options, but 18/19 may have the option. I have to check which years of the drl off options and will post once I confirm everything.

Yes, the first 50 isn't available. They have already been sold mainly to TRS dealers. The first actual shipment is coming in by sea freight. Not exact ETA yet of the first shipment but hopefully soon.

 

Yeah I would figure the first 50 would be allocated to high volume dealers or whoever put orders in very first. Sea freight with customs, etc expect another 30 days

 

Customs at the port can be a PIA, hopefully they don’t get flagged

Heres a quick compatibility reference to help those understand if your truck is compatible with the XB Headlights.

 

Just to ask it a little differently since your original statement mentioned LED DRL’s -

If my stalk has the DRL/OFF position, but I do NOT currently have LED DRL’s, these XB headlights will still be compatible?

 

I mis-understood previously. According to Andrew it doesn't matter if you have stock LED DRL or halogen DRL. Because the XB LED DRL's functions from the stock system, if you have DRL option on the turn signal stock the headlights will function normally as it connects to the same system. It's those without this feature where it won't function normally.
