This has been a helluva of a product launch. @eledobleu I’m sure you probably don’t want to ever do preorders again after this ordeal, huh? I can only imagine the stress. :goingcrazy:

I'm going to preface this with the gratitude I and others have for you setting this up, because I do truly appreciate what you're doing. I can only imagine the stress and frustration you're dealing with because of all this.

But if they had the code active by accident, that's on TRS. That's just some crappy business ethics right there if something is offered, agreed upon, paid, and then later rescinded way after the fact. That's not how you take care of customers, especially if it's unfair across the board. Basically, those who ordered through TRS when their "accidental" promo code was active along with free shipping are going to be benefiting from this ordeal, while everyone else that went through other channels are getting footed with an additional bill after terms were agreed upon long ago. TRS should honor what they said initially instead of putting the literal cost of their mistakes back on us.

Honestly I do enjoy doing business with TRS as one or their dealers, but your absolutely right. TRS is expanding fast and as they grow more errors seems to happen. But they are overwhelmed as well. A few years ago these errors didn't happen. There's even tons of errors and problems us dealers are experiencing as well. But as they change the rules I have to follow them as well.

Thanks for your gratitude man! This group buy has gotten me insane :annoyed:

1000% agree. This is business 101. Upset customers go on social media and speak a lot louder than happy customers. I’m glad we have this forum for group therapy. I need my lights to get rid of the last bit of chrome on my truck!

    Agreed.

But more than likely it won't happen.

So here's what will happen. Those who have ordered will receive a separate invoice to the email you ordered from with shipping price. Like I said I'll lower the price to flat rates so you won't be charged alot depending on where you are located. Any orders from now on will automatically be charged shipping.

    Shipping:

    East coast: $25-35
    Central: $30-45
    West Coast: $50-60

These are just estimates. And final shipping cost won't be confirmed until you receive an email.

I know it sucks guys but again your still getting a huge discount. If anyone wants to cancel just let me know via DM nicely please, I have enough stress :annoyed:. Thanks!

So if I’m on the east coast and my shipping is $25...do I still have to pay the $32?

No, whatever your quote on the shipping invoice says. It will be from that range and all you have to pay what's ever on your invoice. Nothing more.

When you are taking out your old headlights:

    1) liberally apply tape to them to prevent scratches
    2) before popping them free from the retaining clip, slide a shop or microfiber towel between the fender and the headlight to give it a little cushion

The lights sometimes pop out hard, and if you’re unlucky, the metal corner from the fender will scratch right into the corner of the lens with no mercy. Those two steps will greatly mitigate it.

Good information thanks for posting. It's very important to install carefully. I remember doing retrofits only for them to be so excited to install and ended up scratching the lenses badly. Like I tell people take your time, set aside 2 or 3 hours of free time to install.

I forgot to mention that having a few spare blue and red fender clips are helpful, too. Even if you get them out correctly, they might crack/bend upon snapping back in and break.

I admit I was a little pissed at first, but now that I have had time to think about it a little more, I think everyone should stop busting @eledobleu 's balls. Hes at the mercy of TRS and the manufacturer and it seems like hes doing what he can to push back on the shipping fees. He has no control over shipping delays or manufacturing issues. Unfortunately, these are just the risks you take pre-ordering a product. You have to pay to play if you want to be the first kid on the block with a new toy. At least the option to cancel our pre-orders is back on the table.

Just for clarification sake, I'm not busting eledobleu's balls at all. I'm aware he's just the middle man right now stuck between the BS. My issue is specifically with TRS and their lack of continuity throughout their multiple open channels of ordering. Yes I know it's cumbersome and a logistical nightmare keeping track of all orders and everything that goes along with a product that has this much interest. But ya know what? It's not a valid excuse, that's business. It's not rocket science or quantum mechanics... If it was ever in question regarding the shipping, it should have been left out altogether until the units were in hand and ready to be sent out. At that point it should have been determined whether shipping would have a cost or not and then relayed to the customer. Not what's happening currently with TRS going back and forth on the issue resulting in some people getting free shipping and others not.

No worries man. I wasn't talking to anyone specifically, just making a general comment. I agree with a lot of what you said. However, I dont think we can fault eledobleu for promising free shipping because he stated previously that he did confirm that shipping would be free. TRS recently walked back on that.

According to TRS they literally changed how they accept Pre orders because of so many issues with the Tacoma headlights. I'm sure I'll receive the new Pre order regulations soon.
