    From what I gathered bud it’s just a simple matter of the legal document in hand...no hundreds spent by us..it would be trs paying their legal team to defend their delinquency. Not stirring the pot...just asked the right person a legitimate question and got a legitimate answer...i mean come on...it is merica!!!

    My brother is an attorney as well and said this would be an "open and shut" case. With documentation of the completed sale for free shipping, the company would be obligated to honor the transaction, regardless of whether or not the items are in stock.

    That’s what my buddy said...no need for lawyers on our end...we could just present our receipts and it’s legally represented on our part...no council needed!

    I’m greatful my lights are on the way! But yeah, customer service is a business priority, these moments as such will not be forgotten. First impressions are huge, and I’m sure I’ll love my lights but that was a lot of trouble. But you live and learn... and yes thanks to the people who kept us informed throughout the progress.

    We continue to offer free shipping to our customers who order from us directly. If its through you or another dealer, we unfortunately can't stipulate much beyond not going below MAP except for in group buy or other special scenarios approved prior--after all, it is another company at that point these guys are paying. ;)

    Then where was your clarification for that? This thread has been going for months, listed with FREE SHIPPING. You’ve had a million opportunities to chime in and say something, but now that shipments are going out is when the word comes that we have to pay more. I still stand by what I said before, shipping should have been completely ommited from this entire wholesale process otherwise specificed and stuck to instead of changing. Whether we’re going directly through you or a wholesale vendor, the customer should come first. We’re still purchasing YOUR product and the lack of transparency is clearly reflecting negatively on TRS. I don’t care if I have to pay $50 bucks for shipping, but this is BS and along with that response.

    I'm not sure who set this up with Leo originally, but they would have discussed what the terms were and if/why they needed to change.

    Unfortunately I wasn't that person here--I just try to funnel what information I have on the product development itself side of things.

    And look I get that, you're more on the product development end of things more so than the business aspect. I'm in the same boat with my career. You can still relay this info to someone whom can adequately and officially respond to this thread.

    As an employee you're still representing your company, and from what you've just said in your few replies is that TRS is prioritizing the satisfaction of it's direct retail customers first over any & all secondary customers. The information those secondary customers were given wasn't given entirely, nor was it priority to give the correct info. Just a very crappy way to conduct business, especially when there's over $60,000 of customer funds that have already been paid. Even though we're in the group buy, we're still YOUR customers and it's TRS' responsibility to take care of their customers, regardless of where they're purchasing from.

    The shipping information should have been communicated clearly FROM THE START, with no discrepancy. This doesn't fall on @eledobleu it falls back on TRS and for not catching it MONTHS ago when free shipping was offered in this thread, along with the initial post having it in bold lettering. I understand mistakes happen, if free shipping was offered when it wasn't supposed to be, it should have been caught and corrected much sooner.

    Even an acknowledgement from TRS that it completely messed up and apologizing would be better than what's being said right now.

    There's so much mis communication during this group buy its insane! I do find it strange however that the shipping policy for dealers changed in February when the group buy started :confused:.

    But despite what changes was made, I admit that I did not see any publication about this. Who's fault this would be I don't know. TRS has alot of dealers and I there's always confusion and miscommunication from I've seen.

    Now having said that, if TRS won't offer the free shipping to this group buy then there's nothing I can do. I have received an email from Andrew explaining why they won't offer it and the policy changed in February and the reason being is that they realize they "financially can't afford it".

    So now that we have clarification, I'd want to try to calm this group buy down especially for those new members who are also interested in the headlights. I don't want them to be scared about the xb headlights because of all of this confusion. Special Thanks to @Justin_Exploring for the continued support and trying fighting for the members of this group buy.

    Now with that being said, everyone who Pre ordered will receive a separate invoice starting Monday with shipping charges from the quotes range I mentioned in my previous post.

    Looks like today is gonna be a Jack Daniel's kinda day for me :annoyed:

    No problem. I'm usually one to remain quiet and just cruise through and read/learn on threads, but when I notice something that doesn't feel right, I'm going to speak up.

    I appreciate your honesty and effort with all of this. I wish I could say the same about TRS. Just as I assumed, they don't want to pay $2000+ to ship out over 60 sets of headlights, so they're going to distribute the costs across all customers that aren't directly their own. Again, shady and poor demeanor for a "professional" company.

    I can't speak for everyone when I say this, but I'd personally feel way better if TRS came out directly with a statement along the lines of: "Yeah we effed up, it was our bad this info wasn't given properly and going forward we'll make sure it won't happen again. Our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience." Instead of using you as the middle man/messenger for their screw up.

    Likewise. I just want the head lights in hand and move past this. Everyone enjoy your weekend.

    My contract isn't with TRS, it is with Retrofit Wholesale. That is the name on the invoice. That's who I purchased them from with free shipping.

    We have no legal recourse with TRS whatsoever.

    Yes, this is correct and I don't think anyone is debating this. The issue is the misinformation from TRS from the jump and their lack of correcting it in a timely manner.

    I think key takeaways I got from this:

    1. I'll probably be a little more hesitant to get on a pre-order with TRS going forward whether direct or through a dealer. This situation got away from them a little. To be fair a growing business like this is going to have these problems. I hope they learn from it to make themselves better going forward.
    2. @eledobleu: I want to thank you for being upfront about the situation, and even going as far as offering us an out even when the mistake was not yours. While I'm disappointed I won't have free shipping, I think because of your actions, It makes me willing to pay the shipping and look past the error. You should feel good about how you handled the situation despite what transpired.

    For those that already have the headlights, I'd really love to see how they turn out. :)
