Thank you again for the response. I appreciate your willingness to discuss this and provide additional detail. From what I can tell, I think TRS is probably at fault for the free shipping debacle. It looks like they confirmed free shipping would be included months ago, then changed their minds and told certain vendors to deal with the fallout. That is a pretty crappy situation for everyone except TRS and it's not fair to you as a vendor or me as a customer, but things don't always work out the way they should unfortunately.

Just got my set on Tuesday and installed them this afternoon. Completely different truck now! Getting the sequential turn signals to work was a little tricky. Feel free to PM me if anybody needs help.

Edit: just added some night pics

How do you like their output?!

What was the issue with the sequential plugs? I’m glad to update the install guide accordingly.

Hey Andrew, the output is great! I do think the beam projection out the box sits a little lower than stock so that gives the illusion that their not as bright or as illuminated as switching out stock bulbs to LED ones but, when it’s real dark out you can definitely see the difference.

The instructions included aren’t bad but, are the best either. A few things were left out or unclear. I actually called TRS over 10 times for clarification on certain things (here is my case# CA328126, as a reference if needed). Didn’t want to have rip off my bumper again if I didn’t get right the 1st time.

My biggest issue was the wire identified for the sequential turn signal’s is truly misidentified in the instructions. I spoke to 4 different reps (which were all awesome guys by the way, especially Elliot over at TRS) and they all seemed to be unclear as to which plug needed to be disconnected being that the instructions show otherwise. Finally got a hold of Travis the XB expert at TRS and after sending in a video of my installation he was able to help me out and got the problem resolved. Love that guy! Haha

Another confusing factor was the added cable to run to the fuse box. “No-where” in the instructions does it state that the additional cable is only needed for Tacoma‘s without current daytime running lights i.e. SR5 models. So I ran the line just incase but, again after calling in to TRS two reps told me it wasn’t needed while one told me it was.

Last but not least after putting everything back together I noticed a small gap towards the end of the headlight and the trucks housing. I was very carful when putting everything back in place so I wouldn’t scratch any paint but, I still ended up with a gap and the headlights don’t sit flush. I reached out to @MESO and he said he had the same issue with his install. I am a bit upsetting being that I paid so much for them but, the face lift by just adding the lights I guess makes up for it.

Here are some pictures of the gaps on both sides and TRS also has a copy of a video I sent in to Travis identify the gap issue and the sequential turn signal issue.

Over all I love the lights and YES!!! I would buy them again just wish they sat flush and had better instructions. Hope this helps everyone, I truly do recommend them and feel free to PM and I’ll send you my number if you need assistance with the install. @TRSAndrew feel free to call me as well and I can help a little better identify the needed updates for the instructions.

Very informative, but I too would be very upset with those gaps! Anyone else have them? How is that ok? Starting to waver on this pre order now....

I definitely do not like the gap... o_O Overall, is it really that noticeable? Truck looks good by the way though, I like!

The gap isn’t that bad. I will eventually go back loosen everything up to make sure everything is sitting in place. TRS did inform me that if I wasn’t happy I always had option to send back the lights and they would send me a new set. Honestly if you have the money for the upgrade do it! Picture don’t do the head lights justice. They look really good in person. I live in the Long Beach area in California if anyone wants to meet up and check them out.

Nice! I actually bought mine from West Coast Toyota in Long Beach, live near Glendale and work in Hawthorne.

Also I’m assuming you weren’t part of the group buy since you got yours already...I’m still waiting on my shipping invoice.

Agree that those gaps are excessive...looking forward to other installs for comparison.

I had small gaps, but then again all my fenders/hood/grill have been tweaked from off-roading.
