Too bad y'all are putting in too much overtime to pay for those take-offs, much less enjoy your trucks.

Where did my Bro-Hammer/Bud from the AT Civic-Si & WRX crowd go? I had to go to a meeting, then family life, did I miss the fun?

No regrets for me, at all. This Saturday is my 1-year anniversary!!!

After reviewing the model designs, I knew the Sport was the choice I wanted.

The skewp attracted me first...after reading the Tacoma's concentrated capabilities, it was an added bonus.

That is too cool, you can do that if a "locker" is needed.

You wouldn't think that, the way skewps are discussed here.

Comments come across harsh but folks are entitled to their opinions.

I just traded off this car, which was my only manual trans car left. Wish my taco was a stick. I still would not get a sport, but I certainly would have picked a TRD OR in manual if I could. The better gearing alone is worth it.

And for those that care why I traded it off, it was to get my wifey a car she would like, but me being me, I tried to convince her to get another off road vehicle and she went a different direction:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    ^^^^
Now, this is the type of conveyance that requires a manual transmission.

    Talk about an exhilarating experience!

Unfortunately, no P 911 is available with a manual trans anymore. Sign of the times I guess.

    I was curious...

For that kinda money, there should be a manual trans. I did see they offered it under Tech Specs/MSRP.

I forgot there were different models:

    Coupe
    Cabriolet
    Targa

The only manuals I've driven are a '98 Outback both stock with blown bushings and then a short shifter with new bushings, and an '82 C10 I shoved an SM465 from a 1-ton into. What bizarre gearing that thing has, 1st/low is useful if I feel like going slower than walking speed, 2nd's fine, but holy hell the 2-3 shift is loooooooong. At least it was cheap, and bulletproof. And if I ever worry about it being stolen, I'll just take the shifter with me (it still has the column shifter, I converted it to manual) and confuse whoever tries to take it.

As long as the manual in the Tacoma's better than that, I'll be happy.

Sure are missing a lot of fun. :p

ahhh you don’t need a locker. Barely even need 4WD. Have gotten my trucks into some out of the way spots without using either. Lockers are probably one of the most hyped up options out there. Like all those guys I see running around with brand new MaxTraxs and shovels slapped to the side of their trucks that never been used. Believe it is more about image than anything…think people like saying they have a locker.

Only bought a set of extra set SR5 wheels, have $200 into them. Not going to mod this truck like the last one, only fix parts when they wear out.

I had a 1980 C20 with this transmission in it.. with the floor shifter. Your knuckles hit the dash in first it you used it... and if there was a woman in the centre of the bench, well, let's just say she got a surprise when in second, fourth or reverse... that thing also had rear suspension that was so stiff it changed lanes going over paint lines!!! 350 4V, fun truck.. if it had been a 4x4, I might still have it...

The shifter in the Tacoma is way shorter than the couple of foot travel of that beast, and having a URD short shifter improves it that much more...

nope. The 2ng gen with a supercharger would just be doing one wheel burnouts on the street without the Detroit. Now it has traction on pavement.

This isn’t an issue with the 3rd gen and it’s power and unless you have stock tires and a supercharger on it. :bananadead:
