What are some of the best offroad tires that should be used for a daily driver? I would prefer to have the best ride on pavement not the longest lasting tread. But need to be aggressive

I'm looking for the same thing...a street tire for my DD that is capable when I step off the pavement.

I have done my research around the 3 boards (TW, TTORA and TN) and found the most positive reviews on the Deuler A/T, BFG A/T and the Nitto TG.

But when I ask locally (Western PA), it was recommended that I get the BFG M/T because off-road=mud around here. I have heard the A/T is pretty crappy in the mud. Not sure about the other 2.

The only decent tire in mud is a mud tire as they are made to bite in and the lugs are wide enough so they don't get packed with mud. Any other tire gets loaded up and then becomes a slick.

The A/Ts can get slick quickly in the mud, but the other two wont be much better. Im am on my second set of BFGs and love them.

Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's........which I consider a all-terrain/mud tire hybrid that's good for the street. I'm completely satisfied with them.

If you're not in a rush for new rubber, what about the new 'Trail Tires' from Nitto. They look awesome, have a mud terrain kinda thread and are suppose to be quiet for on-road use. I'm planning to buy them when the come out in September.

Does anyone know how Nitto and Toyo tire companies are linked? I have heard that more than once.

Thanks for the heads up on these. I'm putting on my research list.

EDIT...scratch that - they only come in 295/70R17 for us Sport owners. I think I'd have some trimming with just a 2.5" lift!

Hell yea you would need to trim. I had 285/70/17 tires, which is a 33" tire, with a 4 inch lift and still rubbed with some trimmed fenders while fully turned and reversing or offroading. Now I am at 5 inches up front and no rubbing now.
