Oh don't worry about the exhaust hanging so low. It's designed that way to flex right back after it's crushed by the first rock it strikes.

Crazy huh? Some people around here expect each part to be redesigned from gen to gen.

Agree that's a silly expectation. Though some people think that Toyota sales/marketing would never try to deceive people into buying new trucks or that a Chief Engineer would only make 100% accurate claims.

    I think big question is.
Was He trying to deceive people on purpose or He really does not know what "His" truck has?
Not sure which one is worse ...

The frame flexes just as much as the 2nd gen and the transfer case is in the same place as well. Some of you need to calm down with the end of the world shit.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
The 2nd gen frame flexes just as much. Its not too far for a topper or a tire mount etc unless its poorly designed.

The Tacoma frame is softer for ride quality on the road and crash safety. The frame in my old yotas is stiffer and has less flex but I can personally vouch that it sure hurts more in an accident!

The important thing is that when the truck frame gets a little flex like that off road, it is a flex and not a bend or tweak.. look at any 90s or older ford, chevy, or dodge truck that has been wheeled and its not straight. That is because of poor design. Instead of flexing, it bent.

And a well designed tube chassis does in fact flex, it only minimizes that flex and directs the load on any given members properly or it bends and breaks spots. Look at the difference in an old Yamaha ATV like a blaster or banshee vs say a honda 250r or 400ex. The honda and Yamaha bits were made of the same stuff but Yamaha had a lesser design.

And the life cycle of a very low flex design is lower than one with more flex. A million miles on the street is lots and lots of flexing, shock and vibrations that is hard on rigidity.. I have 2 80s toyotas with cracked factory welds where there is no rust because of the rigidity and abuse.

By the way I haven't a degree to my name.. my common sense and practical skills are learned by breaking shit that guys with degrees made, and figuring out myself how it failed.

I don't know, I never seen 2 gen get their frame bend so much out of shape. My topper would brake into million pieces if frame bend it as much as it does in the picture on the new truck. Topper is fiberglass there is not much strength there. There is some flex but not even near as much.
Here is somebody else, clearly his rear tire goes airborne, and even with added weight of topper there is not much frame bending on the back ...
I don't think 2gen trucks even remotely bend it like that.

    And if thats not enough
Here is another video from MOAB FF to 7:45 there is White second gen not only is not bending with regular weight but its not even bending with dude pulling it down by a corner.

    BTW All Hail 1gen + 2Gen Tacomas..

I don't dislike Sweers but I hope someone busted his balls at the Tacoma demo in WA for the seatbelt bracket comment.

"SeatBelt Bracket Mike" Sweers is now a legend ...
Between seatbelt bracket comments, than "drums are better offered" comment I think His "expertise" is well established ... :)

Its a camera angle thing in the 3rd gen pic I believe.

I can back you up in the fact that the frame on my 2013 did in fact flex far enough for my topper to touch my cab.

When I get a chance ill get a pic of my 2015 at the same sort of angle for comparison.

The truck in the picture is a stock DCSB correct? I didn't look at the rest of the review yet
