Looks like Toyota fked up, here is a comment from TFL trucks review, looks like that crazy flex now is on purpose.

Chill out with the frame flex hysteria. Here is a picture of my CB antenna mount and what it did to my cab after the first time wheeling with it. It's hard to tell from the angle, but the frame flexes and that is normal. The alternative would be to make a frame that doesn't flex but cracks under load.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.

Actually you're missing the point, but I won't argue with you because people have already explained it very well.

ATO front skid (need more but icon's might fail if I hang anything else from my truck) All-Pro front bumper thanks to a good deal here and a pesky encounter with a rock or 20, total chaos uppers.
I can't argue with your lodgic but curious how a shell would handle the flex. I know my old she'll frequently gave my cab a love tap or 2. Also to be fair to the op it's not like Toyota has a great track record on the taco frames...

Did anybody see that the 3rd generation lost 3 degrees of approach angle from a 35 to 32 degrees.
