No, not bad at all. My wife even made fun of me for complaining about it, lol... She's like "are you complaining about a little dent in your play truck?"

    Yes. Yes I was.

She was right, though... I've got plenty of texas pinstriping, so it just adds to the "character"

The scratches or dents that I have on my truck that bug me the most are the ones that didn't come from wheeling

Ok, the description doesn't say anything about OHV trails at least for the West Coast.
    Thx man

I've got a nice big scratch on my front fender from a tree branch that fell on it when it was two weeks old. Tried to do touchup paint and now it looks worse. I should have just left it alone and pretended it was a normal offroad pinstripe.

Just looked into Berdoo Canyon, looks like a nice little day drop from OC. I will have to check this out! I wonder if its too hot already this time of year.

It'll definitely be over 100F out in the desert, but with A/C (the trail shouldn't be hard enough to need to run without that) and a good supply of ice/water and some sunblock it should be tolerable, and might not be that much hotter than where you are depending on what part of OC (since there's probably a 15-20 degree differential between Laguna Beach and Brea/deep Anaheim this time of year) you're coming from.

The bonus is that if you go up far enough, it ties into the "geology loop" and the rest of J-Tree and there are a bunch of spots and little "hikes" to check out when you're in there.

Thanks for the info man! I might let things cool off a bit before I venture out. I am also interested in the Bradshaw trail and the Mojave Trail run from Laughlin this fall.

Getting some new tires this week. Considering breaking them in on an east So Cal trail. What're some of your recommendations? Stock everything 2015 Prerunner 2.7 4 banger Auto.

    Camper life.
There are plenty of trails in and around Big Bear. I've spent a lot of time up there and my truck is basically stock

Big Bear has so many trails it will make your head spin. Everything from 2wd friendly fire roads (endless ones) to black diamond 4x4 trails requiring front/rear lockers...and everything in-between.

White Mountain and Gold Mountain are my favorites up there...both 4x4 only. But there are a few dozen more at least.

Gorman OHV park up the 5 freeway off the grapevine is a huge park with a lot of go-fast trails. Miller Jeep Trail/Lockwood Canyon is a pretty tough 4x4 trail not far from there.

Rowher Flats and Drinkwater Flats outside of the Santa Clarita Valley near the 14 freeway.

Cleghorn and Pilot Rock 4x4 trails off the 15N/138 freeways.

Tons of trails in and around Joshua Tree on the BLM land and such. The desert is full of trails. Mojave Road is a lot of fun and doable in 2wd...makes for a real fun 2 or 3 day adventure (winter time only of course).

Johnson Valley, Cougar Buttes, Ocotillo Wells, Redrock Canyon...all fun desert parks/trails.

Azusa OHV sucks the root, don't ever go there.

Play with CalTopo. You can route-plan quite a bit and keep only what you plan on using. We use a public-service oriented version for SAR and it is fantastic
