    Hello Taco guys,

I just got the Offroam MagSafe vent-mount phone charger. Other than not being able to adjust the vent, I really like the Offroam. But I would ideally like to hide the charging cord and maybe run it behind the dash.

It's mounted on the vent to the left of the head unit. I was thinking I could run the cord through the vent and behind the head unit and tap into the 12v plug with a hardwire usb adapter. I was able to feed the cord through the vent and back past the round vent seal but it pinched the wire a little bit and I don't want any issues there. Maybe I could find a flat usb-c cable and it might be ok. In any case, I don't want to drill any holes if I don't have to.

What would you recommend to hide the cord? And what have others done? I found a thread about where to actually mount the phone holders, but not one on handling the wiring (unless I missed it).

I don't have a pic yet as I currently have the vent rings out to paint them black with plasti-dip. I started out with the Me-so customs vent rings but that doesn't work with the Offroam, so I had to do a little chrome delete of my own. But here's a stock photo to show the type of mount I have for better context.

I have a dash mat that I run cords under and you can’t see it.

Pull the center dash front cover by hand and feed the cord inside the vent hole and to one side of it.

    Too much to list
I didn’t use your exact set up but similar.

I ran a hidden USB port, cut a small slit in the side of my dash panel where I needed it and ran the cord over the radio. Super clean and an easy install.

This is how I have it setup. I did a fuse tap to run power.

Different mount for me but ran the cord through the vent the way you mentioned. The foam tape used to “seal” the trim vent to the duct is soft, so I just gently pushed the panel trim back into place, no problems for a year now.

Didn’t want to drill a new truck.
