I have my OGE Dual Battery system installed and appears to be working (see previous thread in my history for back story) - It seems it's *always* in combine mode unless I lock it out.

It doesn't switch over during start, but during the drive it switches over to combined and I'm failing to see the cause why.

    Any ideas?

No additional battery loads yet like winch or anything, just stock truck electrical.

I've been attempting to get a hold of Matt at OGE but he hasn't responded to me for 2 weeks after the initial consult on getting the system.

If I remember right the system stays connected until the main battery drops below a certain voltage. I can't remember what that voltage is off the top of my head. If you don't have any load on either battery it would likely take a couple of days before the voltage dropped to the point it disconnects.

@cblow5 Thank you, that doesn't, unfortunately, quite answer why mine is always combining with the stock electrical load. I'd understand if it needed it during starting or while running a winch, heavy light combo... but this is just driving down the road in a largely stock, electrically, tacoma.

Just not sure I get it.

I see, I thought the combining portion was for the draw.. not for the charge as well.

    Thanks for clarification.

That makes sense, I guess what was confusing me is if the load wasn't there why was it combining, but it sounds like that's also for charging when it drops below a certain voltage even if idle.. so it combines them to take care of both simultaneously.

    Cool, thanks again.
