Ya Canadian dollar has sucked. Was looking at the Baja racks, $550 in the states, local they wanted $1100 for it.

You guys like Tacomatown for work? I'll be looking at a lift in the next while, but dunno if I like that Boss Kit, or if I should save for a Icon Stage 2. IS2 is like $2500 with exchange (and no shipping). Don't think I'll do any intense offroading, but a lot of shitty backroads for fishing

Icon is a bit overkill for what you are doing, but if you end up like someone I know you might start 4x4ing on top of fishing once you have the capability and wish you went with the rebuildable icons. It's not that the Icons won't be nice on road or gravel, they will do awesome there, but like any true coilover they will cost a bit more and take more maintenance to keep in prime shape. The advantage is that they are rebuildable so you should be able to keep them running for longer than the Boss Kit. I do know someone who rotted out a set of Icons in 2 years but I don't know why it happened and I don't think that's what happens for most people.

TacomaTown did my S/C. They are definitely one of the cheapest prices in Canada for a Toyota dealer to install your stuff. They did my TRD S/C and, not only did they finish the job early, they helped me out by lending me a car so I could go into town. I was very impressed with the service. Every time I email them for pricing they are very thorough and seem knowledgeable on what they sell. They also store the stuff they bring in for people in sealed up cargo containers, which is nice because it keeps stuff in good shape. I know a few shops around that leave bare metal items outside *cringe*.

I am going to throw in though that The Gear Shop in Calgary does a lot of work on Toyota's too. I'd price them out as well. Seems like the people I've met from Calgary get a lot of their work done there. The Gear Shop is also a lot more familiar with 2.0 offerings from Fox and the 6112's, both of which might be better options for you than the Icons for slightly cheaper.

Borla Catback Exhaust, Snorkel, 33s on either 16's or 18's, ARB Bumper, All Pro LT w/Walker Evan Shocks front and back, All Pro expedition leaf pack, 10,000lb Superwinch, Intake Manifold Spacer, Bed Rack with ARB RTT, Rotopack and Hi Lift mounted, Husky Liner mats and an air freshener from 1995.
I've had good luck ordering straight from All Pro shipped via FedEx or USPS. If you want harsh ride, I'll remove my RTT and rack and we can tool around with my All Pro Expo leaves unloaded. :p

If you go OME you won't regret it. I was very very happy with mine. Only reason I ditched them was because I got a fantastic deal on my LT.

Think Boss over the Bilstein kit? UCAs a good idea for either?

Boss will give you a bit better ride, from what I've heard, because Toytec custom valves the Boss kit. The Boss kit is also adjustable on the truck which is not possible with some of the base 5100 kits from Toytect. UCA's are likely necessary to get a decent alignment if you are going over 2.5" of lift and will help you get more travel out of the suspension if you go with something with extended travel.

Do some research into any UCA you look at though. Light Racing stuff has had problems for a while now. They seem to keep fixing the issues but then another set or the same issue will pop up again.

Meh, the ass-raping starts when you buy the truck - Canadian buyers pay twice as much for freight as buyers in Hawaii...

Meh, at least the rate I signed is so low odds are over the 5 years I'll make out ok.

I'm in the 2.5's. I think 2.54% was what I signed in the end.

Yeah, but you know what it's like when you see a drop right after you signed. I've been super busy with work and using my parents for mortgage information because they seem to be obsessed with the Bank of Canada rates as they get ready to enter retirement. I didn't have any clue a few weeks ago a drop was coming but now I feel like I should of done more research maybe. Then again it's all speculation till the Bank of Canada does something.

I briefly debated going for BMO's 10 year rate plan. It worked out to something like ~3.1%. High right now but over 10 years, if oil goes flying up again, that rate could look really good.

Yep , and mortgage rates don't necessarily fall because the BOC drops the overnight lending rate

Why would you sign a variable right now ? You think the rates may go down ?

My last 3 mortgages have been fixed. Never felt comfortable with varible. My branch manager who I've been dealing with for over 15 yrs highly recommended the variable right now. In fact she just did one herself. She see's it going down even more with little risk of it jumping up significantly in the future.

The overnight lending rate is at 0.5% , how much further down can it go ? Plus even the BOC forecasts growth in the economy for the second half of 2015
