Oh look a noobie with a fitment question.

    Nothing... yet...
Sorry fellas I know these questions are trivial but I could use a helping hand.

Ugh, I ordered a set of 16 x 8 wheels and a set of 255/85/16 tires yesterday only to get a call this morning with both on backorder with no estimated delivery date. "Supply chain issues"

The only other wheels I like are 17 x 9 with -12 offset, 4.75 backspace. Can't find a definitive answer anywhere if a 9-inch wheel will have rubbing issues with a 2" lift?
I also want to keep the "tall and skinny" tire, which might help the fitment on the wider rim?

It really is a stressful debacle trying to figure out fitment, especially with extremely limited inventory these days lol.

    Thanks everyone.

9 inch wheel is too wide for a 255 tire, and with the -12 offset the 33 inch tire is likely to rub either way. I simply platidipped my stock OR wheels and when my tires are due, then I'll put a 255/85r16 on them if I can find a proper all terrain tire in that size that doesn't pull to the right...

The lift amount is irrelevant, the wheel width and offset is what you need to pay attention to if rubbing is your concern. Like Puckbag said, 9" is too wide for that tire. You can look up the recommended wheel sizes on the tire manufacturer's website. I have 255's on 7.5" +10 wheels and given mine are narrow even for 255's I think they look kinda stretched and would be better on a 7" wheel. They also have a little bit of rubbing at full stuff.

Look into narrower, higher offset wheels if you want to avoid rubbing. Unfortunately, that goes against the current trends so your options are kinda limited unless you are OK with stock wheels.
